I'm currently saving for my own yatai. I have done a few test runs of menu and have sold out each time I'm in Texas and it will be a fusion of the Tex Mex / bbq foods I know and have cooked for years and what i have learned from our asian population here and abroad in my training Menu will rotate but primary items include Birria udon with roasted corn elote and jalapeno, smoked brisket ramen in salt broth, Grilled beef and chicken yakitori. I look forward to the completion of my cart and perfecting my service and menu

Do you need a permit to setup yatai at a particular location?
@FFXfever
@FFXfever 2 жыл бұрын
As a restaurant owner myself, I hope to never find myself needing to run a Yatai, the set up time is far better used in making food and preparing better advertisements. That being said, this looks so much fun, I want to do it for a while. The intimate atmosphere and the simplistic kitchens feel so homely, reminds me when I first started in this industry, while avoiding the crazy crunchiness that usually comes with food carts (due to them needing to pay venue tax).

It’s related to princess mononoke. In French, it say « porter sur le monde un regard sans haine » and in English, I’m mot pretty sure for the translation, but it’s something like : looking at everything without hate or something like that :)

9:34 This is what is so upsetting. In Japan the ramen is reasonably priced and obviously the best of the best. In America they charge twice as much and is more about salt, than actual flavour and it brings the whole meal down. Drinks are reasonably priced as well. Although curious why a water is more expensive than alcohol in this situation.

Surely they could request another spot. It's not set in stone that forever they have to be there. They just need the permission to move. It would probably cost money for the request I am sure. I wonder if the birds congregate there and poop as well. A shame if they do. Or in some small way the tree actually helps them by blocking the wind and the rain. Maybe dress the tree up a bit for attention.
