You really rescued this sweet lady from her pain. For the naysayers out there, the debris builds up more when you bathe often and not let the feet dry completely. You have shown a lot of hard working men also, you can tell they are taking care of themselves just by being at your office. I understand how hard it is to take care of your feet and I’m only 58! I have neuropathy from chemo and tend to cut my nails too short. Then all the tips of my toes hurt. If ever I need a podiatrist, I hope he is as lovely as you are. God bless you ! You’re the best.

Wait until you start getting old!! Your body stiffens up and you cannot bend like you used to! I have serious arthritis in the majority of my joints and my spine. Then there is the issue of your eyesight that is failing also. When I try to cut my own nails it usually requires many bandaids to stop the bleeding!! Cutting by feel is not the best way to cut your own toenails!! So young people out there back your judgmentalness up! this will happen to you!! You may say no right now....but your body turns on you and you can no longer depend on it to have the strength, flexibility, and vision to do this task!
@andreawaterstreet39014 жыл бұрын
I know that this is purely my own anecdotal evidence, but it’s not a foregone conclusion that older folk will lose flexibility to the point where they can’t reach their feet. Both of my 80 year-old parents have stayed very healthy and active, and they’ve been doing yoga and Pilates since the 1970’s. I grew up learning those exercise modalities, and at 52, I’m still very limber. Granted, I don’t have arthritis or diabetes or other chronic conditions that limit my ability to keep up a daily movement regimen. But my mom has arthritis in her hips, and my dad had a knee replacement, and they still are able to do their daily yoga routines, and have a very large range of movement and muscle strength. Keeping up with physical therapy and daily diligence are a big part of the answer-which is not a popular dynamic for most older Americans with lifestyle conditions/diseases that result in severely limited mobility. I definitely plan on riding my bike everywhere and doing my daily yoga and lap swimming just like my parents do. It’s a great quality of life.

Very good video explaining viewer comments and questions. People who patient shame obviously never had a family member who was difficult to care for. I was fortunate enough to know all 4 of my grandparents in relatively good health while I was growing up. As they got older three of them were easy to care for, but one of them was very modest and was difficult. Unfortunately, there are family members who do not care about their loved ones. I had no problems changing soiled clothing, bathing, feeding, or cutting toenails or fingernails of my grandparents. They did it for me when I was unable (as a baby) so why shouldn't I take care of them? My grandfather was a proud man. When he passed away at home under hospice care all 4 of his sons (one of them being my father) bathed him, dressed him, shaved his face, and put his hat in his hand so he could be transported to the funeral home. That's love.

My parents are both mid-70s and still (thankfully) can do their own feet. My mom just cut and polished them last week. She uses our bidet for a little handy dandy foot soak bath (LOL). Dad regularly does the nail trimming in the tub (after they have softened nicely). Bidets were really popular in Belgium in the 70s and that is how old our house is. The bidet has stayed all this time! It's very useful (but not for what you think). ;)
