The reason Steve got knocked the other way is due to the knock back mechanics of the bell. So there is some knock back storage if you hit someone into the bell or tap them after the stun, but the bell's knock back is determined by which side of the character model touches the bell, so in this case, the forward air knocked Steve into the bell leaving some lingering knockback upwards and right, but the since Steve hit the bell on his right, it knocked him up and left. Very cute ❤

Percent & DI do still factor into actually hitting with the side b or any other move.

I wish this wasn’t Steve’s moveset in smash. I dont hate Steve in smash, I hate his moveset. Steve in smash is still one of the greatest things to happen, but his moves aren’t the best. If he had a completely different moveset, one that doesn’t capitalize on blocks, the minecart and mainly redstone items and instead focuses more on the combat side of Minecraft (potions, crit hits, bow and arrows, crossbows, armor(?), etc.) then he’d really represent his game instead of being known as the block camper/zoner. He’d really be the man who survives nights full of monsters and slayed a 2nd dimension dragon.

Like I'm never going to say it's easy, but what is it with people seeing steve with no metal and not bum rushing the shit out of him? His defensive options are all but gone. I legitimately think some people just get too scared around steve, and people should just take risks and beat the shit out of him on sight. Now do I think he should have a bit more endlag to his moves to make this counterplay a bit more viable? Yes. Is there a glitch that makes steve nigh-invincible? Also yes. I just think people make steve out to be this unstoppable juggernaut, when the counterplay is right there even if it's risky. Pity about the bad matchups though.
