Still running strong I see. So glad this thing gets driven like it should. Also civic cameo!

I rented a 2003 Grand Prix SE while it was current year. and I really liked that car. That year marked the beginning of them being only available as a 4 door. The Grand Prix also had its last restyling the following year.

I had a 1999 4dr gtp supercharged in 2002. Fastest I went in it was 240km/h. Only had it for 3 years and by the time I sold it she was on her third engine and second transmission.

Thank you for appreciating an underappreciated car. As yellow is opposite blue on the color wheel, these mods make sense. As for drilled rotors, brake experts say the holes are not for cooling, but to stop the pads from skiing on a thin layer of gassified pad material. Still, they look cool and serious. I’m debating them for my hobby car, but the factory rotors seem to be immune from warping even with excellent NAPA “special service” pads. Not sure about the metallurgy in aftermarket drilled rotors. Surely some exhaust systems tune out the imbalance you spoke of. Someone will know. Peace Out -Sam

I have the same car in good condition like yours, the front corner light did the same on mine so I removed and drilled two very tiny holes in the bottom to evacuate any dampness then I used silicone grease on the top where the rubber gasket is for the bulb

Was it the one for sale at Reichard Buick GMC back in October 2023? That's where I bought mine from. Just making sure we’re talking about the same car!

@ yes sir! Friends with the owner. Went down and checked it out. Cleanest one I have seen in ages. If it were a GTP it would have been stored away in my garage. Take good care of it, it’s beautiful

That is a nicer version of that car, most have rusted away by now. The 3800 is dead reliable. The PowerStop brakes are a more than decent brand, based on 3 cars worth of data.
@hitek9too25515 күн бұрын
I was lucky to get a GT years ago for $800 with 79,000 original miles, no rust, only problems were cosmetic such as the bumper being loose and broken headlight which I fixed and replaced. Drove it up and down East Coast multiple times with bo problems.

Funny enough, I just got given my uncle's one of these, same year, same color, all of it. It's pretty rough though and needs some love from some of the body damage, to the transmission and the like. Sad it has to sit in my garage with broken windows.

I also am a new owner of a pontiac grand prix gt and was wondering what sights and places you found the SLP hood aswell as spoiler? also im a big fan
@utetube2114 күн бұрын
I haven't found a hood yet. The first two pictures I pulled off the internet and the last three pictures were on cars I saw at the Ames Pontiac Nationals Last year. I would say Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, Ebay, or even swap meets at any Pontiac related shows would be your best bet.

I live in st louis metro. These were everywhere back in the day. I had a monte carlo ss. Why an atlas? Does that mean rear wheel drive conversion? Why not an impala ss 5.3L drive train swap? Fluid film's good stuff
@utetube2118 күн бұрын
Atlas because it's a unique engine. Make similar power to the LS and not as common. Of course that would mean RWD conversion. Not only better fit but better weight distribution. LS Impala is on my list of imaginary project cars, hopefully reality in the future!

Just wondering why the wheel swap? I had this exact car same colour etc. But these came with the multi spoke wheels from the 2002 Anniversary Edition. And these are not those.
@utetube2112 күн бұрын
No it came this way from the factory. Limited Editions could also be ordered with these 5-spoke "torque star" wheels. My car has the N66 RPO code for these wheels and they are listed on the original window sticker. Check out my last video where I broke down the equipment this car has.

If you're really trying to pay less for upgrades... try junkyards, especially the ones where you pull the parts yourself. Found thicker & solid, Front & Rear Sway Bars & Strut Tower Braces. It's also where I bought the Front Brake Calipers from a 2001 Camaro Z28 to rebuild and install on my 2002 GTP Coupe & Rear Calipers from an 2006-07 Grand Prix GXP that I rebuilt and installed on my 02 GTP. Both brake upgrades are "Bolt On" replacement parts. Less than 2 years later, I purchased the Roof Rails & Rear Spoiler from an 02 Grand Prix Daytona 500 Edition. The Rear Spoiler takes a bit of fabricating unless you keep it attached to the Rear Trunk/Deck Lid it comes with. (Mounting holes are positioned in different locations) Many affordable & simple options for upgrading your W-Platform, Grand Prix with plenty of KZbin content that can walk you through it. Don't blame you if you end up not changing a thing on her... those GPs are comfortable cruisers with adequate power, and that Series II 3800 V6 will run forever! Just treat her like a lady, and she'll always get you home.
