You did a great job with this video, especially showing footage on dark roads with very little to no lighting conditions! Most people on KZbin that do dash cam reviews DO NOT show footage like this. They are always showing footage on well-lit streets. This really irritates me because I've bought dash cams based on their review(s) and they only showed footage in well-lit conditions. However, as soon as I purchase the dash cam and drive around in areas at night (where there's little to no light), the dash cam ends up showing horrible footage - you can't see ANYTHING when it's that dark with no light. Very frustrating! Thank you for the excellent review of this dash cam, and particularly for showing the footage at night!

Do they have some suction type mount holder for this particular model or do you know any brand of universal suction type mount holder for this camera? I was thinking If maybe I could just use some suction type mount holder for cellphone that can serve as improvised holder. I dont want to use the provided adhesive mount because I would want to use this camera whenever I would use another vehicle. I am planning to buy this camera if only there was an available suction type mount holder. Thanks.

I haven't seen a suction holder that will work for this dash cam. You can use like velcro mounts so that you can peel it off and attach it to another car with a velcro setup .

You mentioned "permanent installation." Does this mean I can't remove the camera from windshield and take with me daily when I leave my car (when I go into work or into the shopping mall)?

Yes. It uses a 3M mounting tape. It is designed to stay in the car's windshield. It does blend well and looks like an OEM part though.

Yes, it works. I tested it with my Wife's SUV and the lens can be tilted up and you just need to install it high up in the back window.

I just got this in the mail today. Looking forward to trying it out. Did you use the 3M mounting tape? Looks like you might have done Velcro. Wouldn’t blame you, but just curious. Hoping it does for a just in case scenario.

No. I didn't use the 3M tape yet..I actually have another dash cam (wedge type) that I have been using (1440P) since December. I haven't made a video of it because my old computer has some issues playing the footage that comes with the camera... I changed the setting to 1080p but 60 FPS...which I'm liking it better...eventually, I'll do a review on it..

I don't have any android in the house...try contacting Yi...I don't even use the WiFi on this on my Iphone because it is too slow to download...I just remove the micro SD card and view and download the footage in my computer.

Yi didn't state anything about capacitor but the camera stays on for about 10 seconds when I turned off my car...so it might be a battery or capacitor?..I don't know.

Agreed, If this thing is not capacitor it will be trashed in parts of the world where it gets into the 90-100f F outside temps. Not just inside.

product details on Amazon say 1 Lithium Polymer Battery, I have found the few dash cams that are capacitors always say it in the description. That is the downside to these sticky low profile ones, you can't take camera out and is hard to use a windshield sunscreen to block the camera from the sun when you're out and about.

So I went ahead and got it for one of my cars that doesn't sit in the sun all the time. I gotta say it is acting like it has a capacitor with it turning off less than 10 seconds from shutting the car off.

that's cool, I like to put my sun screen in the window, does it look like you have room to rig it around this cam to deflect some of that heat.
