As always, great video. Breaking everything down step by step and making it super easy for the viewer to follow. This looks like an awesome accessory but it's unfortunate that they are taking advantage of the yoke hype and charging so much more than they really have to. For reference, their own full carbon steering wheel starts at $799 which uses a lot more material then the yoke, which starts at $1099. That's just pure greed and the reason it will force people like me to look at other vendors who will price this a bit more realistic.

When I asked, their justification was that these units are hand made custom ordered products and they are including everything we need in the assembly to be a plug and play. really cool Mod, However please make sure you tighten the centre screw to the required torque (In the service manual) not just as tight as you can get it. There is a reason this screw is so tight.

HI, I did this thank you for the vid. After I plugged in the power and the 12v I get an error VCfront_a552. I understand it is a 12v battery issue. My battery is rather new do you think I messed it up? Or is there a reset I need to do?

Something is probably loose. Recheck the cable and make sure everything is secured and please don't drive untill the error is gone. You can try to do a hard reboot (two scroll wheel with brakes). If the error is still there, schedule an appointment with Tesla, they will come to your place and replace the 12V battery if you car is less than 4 years old.

It doesn't matter the order but yes the big battery first might make the Tesla freak out less. When you connect the big battery and before the 12V there will be an alert on the screen about low power but it will go away after you connect the smaller battery.

How do you change the trim to the original? If you do change them does the lights of the wheel work+ what do I need to choose for the wheel to look as the original yoke?

Hello, you can remove the trim by using a pry tool. The lights won't work even if you put the original one back on. I believe Hansshow don't install that light on these wheels. Please double check with hansshow on how to make it look exactly like the stock wheel, I believe you need to order with normal leather and no carbon fiber in any of the options. They might just send you without those trims and you can install the original ones. Thanks for watching my video.

Shiva thanks for this..it is a great video. I just got my yoke wheel and excited to install it. First question: did you lose your personal settings, presets, profiles, etc.? any reprogramming or issues with Tesla network or wifi /internet? Just curious if there are any glitches that we should be aware of? thanks

I didn't have any issues with the install. It didn't erase the profiles or anything. When the screen booted back up, everything was exactly how I had it before. Good luck with the install, Yoke is fun!

I am pretty sure you can get a regular steering wheel from the older model S/X and just swap the Yoke. The hardware connection didn't really change with Yoke. Last I checked, Hansshow was working on a normal steering wheel for the refreshed versions :)

Hello, I picked the normal leather. I will be reviewing an elliptical Yoke (my current is trapezoidal) soon and that one is Napa. Both look pretty good. I probably prefer the normal leather though.

Hi Eduardo, yes this is a custom ordered item. They start hand making it once they get the order. So, it is typical to take over 3 weeks sometime to finish production. The Chinese folks are in their National day holiday this week, so probably will take another week to receive any communication (they take a whole week for these holidays).

My car doesn't have the heated steering wheel so I got the regular one. If your car originally had the heated wheel, I have heard that it works exactly like before. Please keep in mind that the shipping time on these Yoke wheels is really long (3-4 weeks) as they hand make these. Thank you.

I'm not sure if my car has a heated steering wheel or not. I was told that Tesla's don't have heated steering wheels. I know that my car has every option that was available in 2018 so I ordered the one with the heating. I thought that maybe it was an upgrade. Hopefully there is. You would know though. @@peshtigomark Do you have a Model 3? If so, you don't have an heating option on yours. Only 2021 M3/Y have that option. I would reach out to Hansshow and change your order to non-heated option. Hansshow just adds another plug to the heated wheel and your car won't have a connection for that plug. Hope this helps.

Then again F1 uses a yoke type steering wheel. I believe those guys are really interested in cars and driving. A big wheel was needed when cars didn’t have assisted steering (100 years ago) But to your point, yes the future will have no humans driving and I am sad for that 😢

@@jorg1456 Yes, I would assume (or really, really hope) that F1 drivers and engineers are "car guys". But in F1, the max steering angle is around 130° in each direction. The driver generally never releases his grip on the wheel. And the cars can generally not turn as tight as a street car (this even has to be modified for street circuits such as Monaco). In a street car you do turn the wheel more than 180° - hence the steering wheel. A yoke leads to akward hand placement. This isn't a huge problem if you're parking, but if you're correcting a large, unintentional drift, you could end up grabbing empty space.
