I'm a NYC girl but I went to high school on Long Island in Massapequa Park. The community was roughly half Jewish and half Italian hence its nickname MatzoPizza Park. 😉

Hi, Sonya…..you’ve reinspired me to light my candles for Shabbat which I haven’t done for decades. I’ve learned so much from you and have tried so many of your recipes. I’m catching up on your older videos and I’m confused about your Passover recipe for the blooming onion. Are there panko crumbs kosher for Pesach? I always thought panko was made out of Japanese style bread crumbs. Thank you for all your inspiration and wishing you and your family to be safe, healthy, and happy.
@SonyasPrep2 жыл бұрын
Susie 🥲 thank you for telling me about the candles. That is amazing!! Makes me so happy to read that. As For the panko- they were kosher for Passover. You can pretty much find anything for Passover now that the companies substitute for not KFP ingredients. I have even seen “bread “ made out of potato flour…

Okay, I found your channel yesterday and have gone down a total rabbit hole binging all your videos! I think you're adorable and love how well organized you are. I love meal prep videos! Anyway, I have a question. I am not totally familiar with the Jewish religion and culture. Could you explain why it seems that you're eating more dairy during passover? In your normal Shabbat preps, I never see dairy, now all of a sudden you are using it. Would you mind giving a quick explanation? Thanks! Keep up the great content. I'm a fan and a new subscriber.

Hi!! So happy that you are enjoying the videos 🤗. I totally understand the confusion. But there is no special reason for it. The first 2 nights of Passover we usually eat a lot of meat like chicken, brisket…. This video specifically was filmed after the first 2 nights where I wanted something light and different.

I love love love you video. When you have time in your show can you share why Jewish people cannot combine dairy and meat. What is the thought behind that. Also I was wondering why you use a lot of disposable dishes. Is this for convenience or religious reason? Thank you so much for your joyful videos’ 🙏
@SonyasPrep2 жыл бұрын
We don't mix meat and dairy simply because thats what God said- many Rabbis say that it poses health risks.
