Regardless of how people feel about Hakoom's track record, his experience with customer support and allegations of data leak and breach are alarming enough to at the very least talk about this. Hopefully PlayStation will provide a response and clarification or address the issues if there is validity to how carelessly user data is being handled. No this is what happens when the PSN terms of service actually include a section that allows Sony to do with the user information whatever they want, including distribution and publication. If you don't believe me - read section 6.1. of the PSN Terms of Service. The only reason Sony wants everyone to create PSN accounts is that they want to sell the user information to data brokers. Something something brand loyalty. Whether you're an employee or a consumer, no company ever cares about you, they just care about your money.
@--Avi--2 күн бұрын
So basically he exchanged his account details with his fellow trophy hunters in his Discord so they could game share. Someone on the server leaked his details so he got "hacked". His autopops and My Name is Mayo-esque platinums combined with so many people using his account to login made PlayStation suspicious that other people were logging onto his account and getting his trophies for him. I mean, I get it. It'd be hard to discern whether the game sharers are actually getting the trophies for him or not. Sucks a lot but that's the risk you run when you game share as a high profile content creator/trophy hunter. My only gripe is that trophies don't necessarily have a monetary value. They can end his partnership for sure. The game sharing thing is specifically for your "main console". You can share your games with people in your household but the rules suggest we shouldn't share credentials to abuse the game sharing feature and allow everyone the ability to play games for free. I suppose it makes sense to ban for this reason, since it's only really a feature intended for people in your immediate vicinity and not for PlayStation consoles around the world to access your games. The excuse of "all trophy hunters do it" doesn't really fly when you're high profile and is probably just going to get others in hot water. Even so, if this is the first instance then they should at least just warn him
@andreysegura25102 күн бұрын
I thought about the warning too, however, you don't get thousands of platinum trophies without really abusing the service, in clear violation of the ToS, terms that have been agreed upon. So I understand why no warning would be issued.

Idk about this story man but Hakoom is notorious and been proven right to be cheating for the sake of trophy hunting. I remember proof being shared on reddit on things he couldn't possibly do at least alone or not having a team playing on one account way back 2021. Not saying Sony is absolutely in the clear on this as they really do have shitty customer service and security but Hakoom's story just doesn't add up. I've done the same things he did like gamesharing and autopopping PS4 - PS5 platinum trophies via save transfer but everything I do is done by me alone. I'm not gamesharing 2000+ accounts and having other people logging in my account on multiple PS4/PS5 to earn trophies on multiple systems which shows the timestamps the trophies are gained and he was proven to be cheating in the sense that multiple people will login to his account, go offline, pop multiple trophies until he gains the platinum at a rate that no normal one person can do. Closest thing to me logging in multiple devices is me playing on my PS5 waiting for matches in Tekken 8 and during loading times playing some random game on my PSVita. I earned a trophy on Tekken 8 and my PSVita at the same time and when I synced trophies on PSVita it's all good no ban or warning. I believe I was playing Persona 4 Golden on my PSVita at the time. My guess is he did it to such a huge degree that Sony can't ignore it anymore. I know Sony won't ban an account basing it only on timestamps on trophies because who cares anyways worst thing I know that happened to people are not appearing on the leaderboards on PSNprofiles but their actual PSN account are still playable and they're still able to login and play the games they've bought digitally. I'm guessing Hakoom did it to an egregious extent that Sony couldn't ignore it anymore. Then again, why now? Hakoom's been proven to be doing this for a long time so if Sony is standing by their reasoning on Hakoom's ban, why do it now? We only heard Hakoom's story and Sony will unlikely show any more proof as they have bad customer service and communication but I wouldn't trust Hakoom's overall story either.

I'll never forget the time Playstation permanently banned a Arab gamer because his PSN ID had "Jihad" in it Keep in mind, "Jihad" was the gamer's actual given name, and was able to provide proof of such as well as the meaning of the word, and asked to be allowed to change his PSN ID. Playstation declined all reasoning and still permabanned him on grounds that his name might be considered offensive. Playstation had provided no email of the initial ban, and not only was he banned, but his access to all digital games that he paid for was revoked. Sony in general is a very scummy corpo(as all are) but Playstation after PS4 had a particular hard grime to it that simply prevents me from ever being a part of that ecosystem again: atrocious customer service, trash refund policy and abysmal regards to user data among other observed things.

It definitely is concerned that PlayStation is seemingly not taking security seriously; especially with our personal information. This situation is why I do not store my credit card/debit card info on my consoles. What's really concerning is PlayStation is charging people money for basic online multiplayer and they kind of recently raised the subscription price yet they (seemingly) are not keeping our personal information safe and not regularly checking on employees there in case any decide to leak information like this. If this situation is true about PlayStation, every single PlayStation user is at risk and can and should file a class action lawsuit.

Some facts here, since astroturfing against Sony is very popular these days. Not surprised Yong jumped on without actual research. Hakoom is a well known trophy cheater since the PS3 days. The guy had tens of accounts and just as many people gamesharing and trophy farming for him. Not only that, he used hacked save games to unlock Platinum trophies in mere minutes. The man broke every ToS rule under the roof.

Let's not forget how hard the decision must be for Hakoom to leave PS. This is his livelihood, after all, and the stonewalling and banishment by PS must be gut wrenching for him. To say nothing for the illegal acts (allegedly [eye roll]) perpetrated by PS employees. I wonder what will come of all of this.

Naaah. I'm not defending Sony here cuz they have other scummy practices, but this reeeeeeks user error or intentionally breaking ToS then feigning ignorance. Hakoom was definitely doing something malicious here, but in order to appear innocent, showed all these "evidence". No one guilty is too eager to prove themselves that innocent. EVEN if this on Sony, the leak/data trade/bribing is per the employee. What Sony can do better here is track the case # log, who handled it, take it to court, and do whatever legal process is for breaking compliance. After all, you can't safeguard against a malicious employee taking a picture of their caseload and information related to it. Regardless, everyone involved in this matter are not all blameless.
