There are several interpretations of this song. I think the song was sung to a musician who has already passed away. The composer of yorushika, n-buna, and the deceased were friends. On the day of his death, he posted a picture of n-buna's CD on social media. Afterwards, he also said, "How I wish I could have been like you. Rumor has it that the deceased jumped into a train himself. In fact, on the day of his death, there was news of a man who was hit by a train and died after 9:00 p.m. in the city where he lived. If we meet him at the station at 10pm. his behavior might be able to stop him. Maybe n-buna wanted him to talk to someone about it. He wanted him to tell someone about his problems.

Yorushika has some songs that I would say have the best background music I have ever heard, especially in the Plagiarism album. They also just make great music with great lyrics as well.

Gaz, I have watched two other vids by this group, although well produced well performed, I got a modern country vibe from it. which is good. At 73 years of age I've come to appreciate all music. But my favorite will always be rock. the reason I wanted to see this one is because Like me you like seeing what's out there. I like your enthusiasm. You are very cool, and kind to everyone. I totally agree with your analysis. Say it was very delightful yet very sad but upbeat. She didn't let it get in the way of her love.

Yorushika is all about the lyrics so my fave song is "Hitchcock" but my favorite note composition would be Nautilus

I got so excited when I saw this song, because I love this song and I love Yorushika! I'm so glad you reacted to it. Also, as a side note, I don't know if this was the original intention of the video or not, but I always saw the stair imagery in this song as an allusion to the Escherian Stairwell, a "hoax video"/student film from the RIT that depicted a stairwell that repeated indefinitely. It was created by clever video editing, hence the glitching when the character "repeats" going up/down the stairwell. It seemed to fit into the songs themes of imagination and reality and repeating the past/not accepting the truth (the singer talking to someone, despite knowing they're no longer with them), so I always made that connection.

it's kinda funny to me that most people get mind-blown by Yorushika and the first song they listen to is this one because it's nothing compared to many other songs from them so I'm always like "ooh boy go in deeper because you just found a gold mine" 😂 my favorite is 八月、某、月明かり (sorry don't know the English title), I don't think this one has a music video but I love everything about this song. if you want to react to another great song I recommend だから僕は音楽を辞めた which the English name might be "That's Why I Gave Up On Music"

Surprised you started with their old rabbit hole instead of other songs people have as their first these days. Some albums are so interconnected that it's hard to give a listen order, though with MVs Blue indigo -> That's why I gave up on music -> A hole opened up in my heart is one I particularly like as it has some direct reference that move forwards. Hard to pinpoint a favorite song but I would go with Howl at the moon that goes crazy with the protag mental state, like saying "Smash my skull open with an icepick and fill it up with some lukewarm soup, please", and MV definitely goes to Thought Crime.
