In a recent video I made. I did a side by side comparison of the Yoshimura TRS & Yoshimura RS-3 slip on exhaust systems. In today's video we are going to be comparing my Yoshimura RS-3 to an M4 exhaust. Both of these systems were tested on second generation Suzuki SV650 motorcycles. If you are on the market for one of these exhaust systems, check this video out.
Today's video was brought to you by MOTO PARTS SOURCE. Your online source for high quality used parts for your SV650, SV1000, or GSX-R. If you are in need of parts, please check out WWW.MOTOPARTSSOURCE.COM

After listening to 59 different exhaust clips, I think I'll go with the M4 slipon for my 2008 sv.

Lol I commend you for listening to 59 different exhaust clips. If you have any interest in a full M4 system. I will have a complete M4 system for your 2008 available on my website WWW.MOTOPARTSSOURCE.COM sometime early next week. I also have 2 2008 SV650s. What color is yours?

The big determinants are end pipe length and pipe diameter. The shorter and narrower, the louder and higher the pitch is. In my view the best sounding mufflers for the SV have a length of 13-14 in and a pipe diameter of 2-3 in. Deep rumble with a baffle, and loud but not annoying without one. Anything shorter (as is popular due to their low price) and it will be very loud. I had a Fuel Exhaust and now a Delkevic (both 14 in) and they both sound exactly the same as the ones in this video with their baffle out. Unlike the race mufflers in this video, they also came with baffles which make long rides much more comfortable on your ears. What few exhaust manufacturers tell you is how the muffler is packed inside. The cheap ones may just have a thin layer of fiberglass mat, that will need to be renewed after 8k miles or so. The better ones will have multiple layers of metal under the fiberglass packing to prolongue longevity. How airtight the packing is has a direct effect on back pressure and hence performance. But all after-market mufflers will have to be re-packed at some point, unlike the stock muffler that has steel chambers instead of packing material. Unfortunately that information is hard to come by. So I don't see the point of spending $600 on a muffler when a $200-300 one does the same job. However, stay away from the super cheap ones, as they may burn through quickly and will be torn apart if they're used in more aggressive riding scenarios.

They pretty much sound all sound similar, I went the Dominator exhaust plus the cans were much shorter. I have a comparison video like this with said exhaust. Good video though.

A bit new to this how come the SV650 with the M4 has fairings?
@PASSIONBUILT
@PASSIONBUILT 3 жыл бұрын
Hey there. Both of these SV650S models came from factory with lower fairings. Unfortunately the one without lower fairings was dropped by the previous owner and he had removed the lower fairings because they were damaged prior to me buying the bike. The SV with the M4 is my other personal SV that came from factory with lower fairings as well. SV650s that come from factory with full fairings are considered SV650SF or SV650SFA if it has full fairings and ABS like the one in the video. I also made a video that gives you a comparison and detailed explanation of the differences on all 2003-2009 Suzuki SV650 second generation models. Linked below. You can definitely learn a lot about the SV650 from this channel so please subscribe if you enjoy the content 🙂👍🏼 kzbin.info/www/bejne/iIuXYqmGhr6kh7c

One more question, there is an 09 Gladius for sale near me for 3k. What upgrades does a Gladius/SFV650 have over the 1st and 2nd gen SV650? Can't find anything comprehensive online other than power and torque curve tweaks, thanks. @@PASSIONBUILT

The SFV650 is a bike that was not really accepted by the SV community and does not appear to have much aftermarket support as the SV community does. I have honestly never had the opportunity to work with an SFV650 but as far as I know. A lot of the engine components are the same so I can assume that the cam swap upgrades and such would be the same or very similar.

Just remove your pipe if you really want loud pops and bangs but you will probably get sick of it over time and you can throw your pipe back on.

I’ve never heard of Beowulf. I just checked and it looks like they’re UK based which explains why I’ve never heard of them. Some of the photos shown online of their exhausts looked like Yoshi pipes. I wonder if they get them from the same manufacturer and rebrand them as their own 🤷🏻‍♂️
