No, the Hirogen used WWII only because of the historical significance of the war as a hunt, and it's clear in this video the Hirogen had disdain for Nazi ideology and understood they were psychologically compromised. The Hirogen only value the hunt as a test of strength and cunning, and later learned that pursuing that tradition didn't require an unwilling species thanks to holoemitters with the safety parameters off, which is a step towards being a part of the Federation, even though we didn't see that happen yet.

Even more comical, we can imagine that they where right and they actually where superior genetically. That would still be meaningless, because they waged war against everyone. War is a numbers game, and survival is of the fittest, not the strongest. For humans, the fittest is the sum of its parts. The genetic value of a nation is practically irrelevant against the entire world. As a result, their "superiority" was inferior, as it lead to many of them being selected out of genepool. This is what people like this do not understand. Superior genetics is whatever works and reproduces, nothing else.

The arrogance of this nazi is a little bit exaggerated but it hits a point, because the top-nazis were all cowards and swaggerers. 😰 But what is with the warriors ethos of the Hirogen? This logic of what Nietzsche called „Herrenmoral“ (Moral of the masters versus moral of the slaves) and it’s militaristic 🫡 and religious values, to gather strength through hardship? I presume the script here indicates an older historic model: the spartanians, sending their military trainees every year in a war against the helots. This kind of esprit de corps is still very popular today. I personally are suspicious about it, isn’t it another nazi mythos? The old german tribes, living in the wilderness, beating the romans… versus the modern effifimated, civililzed, intellectual (jewish) world? 👹 In American movies the „nazi“ became an archetype of villain. You have criminals, monsters, vampires, mobsters, serial-killers, marsians, etc. and you have „nazis“. They are the perfect villain because thy combine the dangerousness of all villains in one and they are numerous- very practical because the hero in the movie can go on a killing spree (the audience can enjoy the brutality without having a bad conscience because the villain is so „bad“). But this obsession with the nazis in the Anglo-American culture is scaring me. 😬 It started with the Hollywood war movies to obsessive sampling of nazi-devolutions, to the rocker-scene with german badges and helmets, the fetish-scene with dominas in nazi-uniforms, to comic and manga scene and ended with the gamer-scene where all want to play with the tiger tank. So finally the nazi became an icon of the pop-culture. 😤 We modern Germans have learned to live with it. For me as a modern German it’s really weird to see them traveling with space - and timeships to everywhere a movie director want to have them. Is this a dangerous unreflective way too make the nazi gain what they failed to reach in reality: a thousand-years-reich in Hollywood? 🫣 Or is this a kind of exorcism - have we to kill the nazis everyday in our culture to overcome our own demons?

I've lived in both the German speaking world as well as in the English speaking world. One thing I've noticed is that Germans have seen the terrible ending and taken some degree of caution related to it, but English speakers hold a certain degree of arrogance, related to being the "heroes" and "victors" and "liberators". It's a very dangerous state of euphoria that can lead to delusions of grandeur. Young men are far more prone to it than the old. Older men tend to have already suffered sufficient injustice and seen enough corruption and evil to not so easily fall prey to simplistic narratives of "good verses evil". Ultimately, our current models of government are based on the Greco-Roman classical 🏛️⛲ architecture, sightly modified, whitewashed and "modernised" in a very superficial way to give a very thin veneer and facade of progress to fool the majority into patting themselves on the back for being "better" than their ancestors. But even the Greco-Roman model is based on the scaffold of the Persianised Mesopotamian autocratic government, where monarch worship was the norm. Obviously, democracy is an attempt to move away from that, but every country has some form of state worship or leader worship, so that there is some sort of centre that can bind a large group of unrelated people together. In the absence of Christ as God incarnated to fill the power vacuum that inferior men, women, ideologies, deities, myths, and whatever else tries to fill, humanity is subject to implosion. We're at a point of the crisis of faith. Without Christ Jesus as the Chief Cornerstone, there can be no basis for trust between any two human strangers. Without Christ as the Foundation Stone, there is no basis for agreement between people of very different backgrounds and education levels. And without Christ Jesus as the Topstone of Grace, there can be no finishing touch to the human edifice, which can restore our pride in what God has made us into!

@@zhouwu Thanks for your interesting comment. I presume any christian priest would answer you: „Jesus is not away, he is part of the Trinity.“ I‘m not religious but I like one essential message in the New Testament: „Stop sacrificing humans!“ This is an appeal to humans to take responsibility for ourself. Coming back to the present: When kings or dictators play god they have a problem: unlike a real god they can not give life, they can only take life. Therefore I see a kind of competition between Hitler and Stalin and their rival Ideologies - who has more human sacrifices. Sacrifices in form of killed „system-enemies“ and in form of selfsacrificing soldiers. Perhaps this is one element of the holocaust. In the Second World War both dictators were pushing their armies in senseless human wave attacks. Resulting in the catastrophal losses of 15 Million soldiers. Actual in the Ukrainean war Putin is repeating this ruthlessness to his own men. For us Germans war is a desease. It’s looks rational because you see the perfect machinery of war pretending logic in itself but it is always pure aggression, it always pretend that the enemy is less human than you and in all wars both side declare that the enemy had planned to exstinct you and you had no choice but to preempt his attack and in all wars it ends in irrationality, surpassing competition of brutality and self-destruction. That is why we Germans are so hesitating a little bit to get deeper involved in this conflict. We want to help the ukraineans, I personally have contact with refugees, but we fear the emotional loss of control. Or in one short sentence: We Germans avoid to went to war - not because we are afraid of the enemy - but we are afraid of the Germans.

Wars are exceedingly useful to political leaders to redirect the attention of their subjects away from their powerlessness to make their lives at all better, because they are only fellow mortals, and can give nothing, but need the taxes to put bread on their tables and to send their children to the best schools and to purchase the best houses and so on and so forth, and it's just so much easier to play the mud slinging game by focusing attention on the failures of other leaders. While they send endless idealistic youths to die a meaningless death ☠️💀 on the front as minimal wage paid cannon fodder, they take all the glory, as if the "saviour" of the world. This robs Jesus of the glory He richly deserves. Since the dawn of humanity, who has heard of a King who died so that His servant can live? And yet, Jesus, my King, died on my behalf, so that I can speak these words to you. Since the dawn of humanity, who has ever heard of a Man who paid for the debts of His enemies? And yet, I was born a God denying Communist, and here I am, forgiven by God, because Jesus took my place on the Cross. Modern men lift up their noses at the "barbaric" method God used to save us. "Human sacrifice? Disgusting!" They say. Surely, the God of this universe can come up something better! Meanwhile, they are more than happy to cheer on their own countries, like they are some kind of sports team, sending young men, and sometimes, women, to die on the front, so that they can feel better about themselves. "Nothing barbaric about that! They are the bad guys! We had to!" So the powers of this age who are get a blank cheque of human lives to sacrifice to make themselves look good, while mud slinging God as a "barbaric" has been, for sacrificing His Son so that we don't have to die. We have committed a grave injustice against our own God. We have foolishly considered ourselves far too modern, far too educated, far too sophisticated, to do things according to His seemingly primitive methods. What are our "modern", "educated" and "sophisticated" methods? While we sacrifice soldiers on the front, we sacrifice our youths in the workplaces. We milk them for their youth and energy. We pay them minimal wage to put their bodies on the line to earn a slice of bread. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Don't get me wrong. I believe that work is good for the soul. But hard work is no longer good enough. The employers want your souls. They want you to put your souls into it. I refuse. My Jesus died for me. He paid for me with His own Blood. No CEO or Dictator or King can outbid my Lord Jesus Christ. If He sends me to preach the gospel to a man who will kill me before he believes, so be it. His Blood has earned mine. His Blood is clean and sinless, whereas mine is compromised by sin and the world. I have stuck the Holy Bargain. I give to God all that is me and mine and everything I can do in exchange 💱 for everything that is Him and His and everything He can do. My all for His All. In paying with my all, I have lost nothing and gained everything.

@@luxincognita The nazi swastika can be shown in German films as long as they are not nazi propaganda. Do you think movies like Raiders of the lost Ark are/were banned in Germany? Perhaps this was done for juristical reasons. In Germany it is forbidden to show the swastica in public. Or perhaps they changed it to make a statement: this is symbol modified in a artificial way to demonstrate this is a movie and movie is a form of art, we use political symbolism not for political purposes but for a distanced observation for purposes of entertainment and contemplation. It is reasonable they don’t use the original symbol because they may have get accused for making nazi-symbolism popular or have annoyed someone who had suffered from the real nazis and thinks this is inappropriate. It also makes clear: we make a statement not only on the historical nazis but on every kind of racism.
