I like the fact that you post episode specific info with each show you share. Red Sanders would pass away 4 years later in August 1958 .

Thanks, Ron Cote! I couldn't do *any* of this work without the help of an excellent log for the series. I add all these detailed descriptions because this show is so impossible to keep track of otherwise-- you're lucky if shows are even minimally identified by their "secret word", which is a pretty useless detail since it tells you nothing about the show itself. Besides, YBYL reused secret words constantly, some of them literally dozens of times (e.g., "Name", "People", "Hand") It takes a lot of time to write the descriptions, so I'm genuinely heartened to read that at least some folks out there appreciate the result! It's honestly far more work to write the descriptions than it is to upload the videos. :)

Groucho Marx - You Bet Your Life What can I do to get a copy of that log from you? I had a heart attack a bit back so haven't been working on my restoration of this show for awhile. I have a detailed log of my own and some public domain episodes I've managed to track down and place what season and such they are.

Groucho Marx - You Bet Your Life also i'm happy to share all the ones you haven't posted and all my info back to you. a big wish that i can help bring this show back from the semi-dead and misinformationed hell it has suffered in. one of the first weekly shows of all time and a classic piece of both marx bros history and tv history in general. you have the first accurate listing i've seen and your info has helped me to work backwards and forwards from the episodes you have generously shared and reconstruct even more info about the episodes you haven't posted.

+Ron Cote More specifically, Shortly before the 1958 season, Sanders died suddenly of a heart attack in a Los Angeles hotel room with a convicted prostitute on August 14, 1958.

My work is classified and I can't discuss it. My hobby is building and firing rockets. I'm surprised that his hobby wasn't classified. There is an implication that he was a physicist involved in a government research programme (maybe not rockets but he obviously has experience in propulsion and aerodynamics).

I really appreciate all of the hard work you do here and on the WML channel, too. I don't know if it's worth the trouble but Liza Alexander is from a plantation near Goldsboro, N.C. and not GA. I am just now getting to enjoy these wonderful post of YBYL , been a fan of WML for years ;), and I've seen where you like to correct the descriptions when necessary. Thank you again for these wonderful posts! :)

Nobody today would dare admit to being raised on a plantation. With the way things are going I think they would be attacked on the way out of the theatre. Seriously.

I wonder why the audio cut out 9:43 when it was time for Groucho to answer the question about the Clyde River. There’s a River Clyde in Scotland, in Nova Scotia, in Vermont and in Australia. I don’t know if it qualifies as “principal river” anywhere.

9m37 “The probably the worse simile I’ve ever made”. I love how relaxed Groucho is - he rarely flops but even then he does it with grace and transparency. He doesn’t have to prove anything to anyone … the product of exception wit and years of hard work.

He was. He was a wise-cracking, Shakespeare quoting practical joker who turned first Vanderbilt and then UCLA into national powers. 1954 was the year of his masterpiece ,an unbeaten Single Wing juggernaut which outscored the opposition 351 to 40 and shared the national title with Ohio State, whom they could not play in the Rose Bowl because of a "no repeat "rule.
