Louisville fans knew he was gonna be a star. Not just because of the athleticism, but he has the best attitude, and work ethic I’ve seen from a kid he in a while. His dad is one of the top scouts for the Mets, so he’s seen what it’s like to be a professional. He’s smart, and doesn’t take anything for granted. Overall, he just has everything together. He is gonna work to get better, and it he could be special for a long time. It couldn’t happen to a better person. I love this kid!

He’s averaging 16,8,8,2 only 4 less points than Mitchell and Mitchell made 186 more threes and takes 5 more attempts per game. Simmons beats Mitchell in assists, rebounds, steals, blocks. And people will be sayin Mitchell ROY Smh

He reminds me of Dwade with the crossovers, spin moves etc. His game is intuitive, doesnt really dribble too much, just makes a move that makes sense just like Dwade. Hopefully he can become as all around as Dwade. But scoring wise, he's already ahead of Dwade with his smooth jumper.

Donovan Mitchell is going to be an NBA superstar. Michael Carter Williams put up empty numbers as a rookie. He put up 16/6/6 on a horrificly bad team while shooting an abysmal 40% from the field, 44% from 2 and 26% from 3. He was actually terrible in his rookie year. He just had a high ass usage rate that inflated his numbers. Fact is that shooting was always his achilles heel. Tyreke Evans had a solid rookie year and has always been a solid yet flawed NBA player. He's always struggled with his outside shot and always struggled finding his true basketball position. Mitchell has it ALL. Sick athlete, great handles, can create his own offense, highly efficient shooter from everywhere on the court, gym rat with insane work ethic..... He just has IT. NBA greats have spoken highly of him. LeBron James, Chris Paul, Kevin Garnett, Tracy McGrady, Darrell Griffith, Baron Davis, and so on. They know a star when they see one. Donovan is the real deal.

This guy, is ALREADY...a top 10 guard in the NBA..prob top 20 player...if the Jazz start to win...we can be talking possible MVP within a few years...he is not just good...RIGHT NOW...if the Jazz said..we want to trade...there is only a handful of guards they would not trade in a second for him..Curry, Harden, Irving, Westbrook...probably it...just about anyone else, the team would be trading...and for the Jazz...as he becomes a Superstar...almost everyone leaves Utah...but he prob gonna stay...his mentor, played for the Jazz, and has his Jersey retired...so Mitchell is thrilled to be in Utah, playing for Jazz...Obviously it's still early..but if this continues, this seriously may turn out to be the biggest steal in history of draft....
@captainclutch38186 жыл бұрын
Bryan Joseph he already said he wants to stay because of how Utah treats their stars, like how we have streets named after Stockton and Malone
@bjrmagic16 жыл бұрын
Captain Clutch that's great...his family seems to love it...he is a family centered dude, so Utah has an appeal...also Utah is an extremely well run organization Derron Williams, was a Superstar here....he was considered by MANY to be the 1 or 2 Point Guard in the NBA....had he stayed in Utah, he was headed for the Hall of Fame, and Max player contract...Now he is on his way out of the league , and never had close to the numbers, and played like he did in Utah...in an interview, several years after he left, he talked about how well the Utah organization was ran, and basically that he kinda regretted leaving, because other organizations r not ran near as well.... There is a great chance he stays here for his career, would be great for the Jazz.

1:25 That may be cool and all, but it is also definitely a travel. I counted 4 steps. Even if you decided to start counting AFTER the first (which is not what the rulebook says to do), that's still 3 full steps. He's a great player for sure, but being able to run and carry the ball like that makes that move easier than it looks.
@1mfilms6 жыл бұрын
So he's Seth from Street Fighter (a character that has different fighter's moves)?

If the Hornets had drafted him like they were supposed to I doubt he would be having this type of breakout year. He is the man in Utah bc they don't have anybody else to run the ball through. I think if Monk had went to Utah he'd be scoring 20+ ppg too.
@TheJeramyJay6 жыл бұрын
Not true, if you watched the start of the season, it took DM stepping up for the coaches to swing the ball through him. The Jazz had Hood, Burkes, Gobert, or Favors to play through if need be. But Mitchell stole the show while playing as a team, and the team is happy to step back and let the young man lead them to the playoffs.
@beardedman88846 жыл бұрын
Completely agree with Jeramy. Moreover Mitchell lead the jazz to the playoffs, what did monk do again? Also monks 36% field goal percentage vs mitchells 43.7% field goal percentage, with identical 34% 3ptm says monk wouldn't have done the same.

@1survivor5667 жыл бұрын
The Nuggets wouldn't have had Mitchell. They only picked him at 13 because they were making the pick FOR the Jazz. At that point the two teams had already agreed to the trade. If Denver would have kept the 13th pick they would have drafted a forward. They didn't need another young guard. Reports are that they liked OG Anunoby.

That's why the Draft Day Golden Rule should be never draft for need. Draft the best player available and figure things out. That's how the Blazers skipped over Jordan, already had Clyde Drexler. The Warriors still drafted Curry even though they had a similar player in Monta Ellis, and then swung him for Bogut later on. That's what you do.

@williamjackson54216 жыл бұрын
uber athleticism. pick and roll ability. 3pt shooting on the catch, off screens and transition. the real hike to superstar is in getting to the line. 10 free throws a game. some superstars don't but those guys are pretty much on the Warriors, where offense is coming from everywhere and everyone. those free throws mean more than "easy" points to get pass 25ppg. it's foul trouble for the opponent. it's collapsing the defense for a domino effect(you didn't drive just five times getting to the line each time. multiple times with dishes to the roll man. drive and kicks. hockey assist. passes to new actions. fouls on your teammates passed to.)
@kohsmoger15676 жыл бұрын
Kawhi doesn’t get free throw attempts. And only isolation scorers get free throws. Isolation stagnates the offense.

@juliansanderson8396 жыл бұрын
Dysfunctional athleticism basically boils down to two things; either a player isn't entirely athletic(for ex. one leg is weaker than the other) or they are not capable to apply it in game

Javale McGee is a great example of dysfunctional athleticism. Javale is FREAKISHLY athletic but has always lacked the IQ and coordination to use it at an elite level. Bigger guys like Gobert and Giannis are huge, long and crazy atheltic but are able to use it with a high iq and stability. I will say tho that the Warriors have done a great job utilizing Javale.
