Does this work for all republics or just Venice? Like can I play in Genoa in the new starting date?

@@kuga_4038 It works for all king-tier republics at game start. So that includes Pisa and Genoa. You can also adopt the government form with a decision.

@@benzelmer8111 The modders who made RtP for CK2 tried making the mod for CK3 back in 2020, but PDX put restrictions in the code that specifically stopped a RtP mod being implemented.

Yeah, that mod is dope. You can even sort of do something like this in vanilla too. Bureaucratic cultures let Kingdom title have Admin Gov. So you take Venice and Pisa. You're effectively the only Merchant family, however. (The Sere Doge's Palace actually works for you as an Admin Gov too)

I am of the opinion that Roads to Power should have 100% included republics and Venice. Eastern Rome and Venice are so historically interlinked they may as well be Siamese twins. The estates mechanic literally could be easily used for a republic. I feel like the lack of republics in Road to Power is slightly predatory on Paradox's part

CK2 republics are still more fleshed out, a bit buggy since it was never the focus of the game but you can actually build trade posts abroad to expand your network, conquer trade cities, and get extremely rich in general by unifying Mediterranean trade

Believe it or not it’s almost like they made this a paid dlc for CK2 and then removed it for CK3 so they can sell it again as a future DLC. Don’t we all love paradox:)

Thumbnail as Venice making 85 gold a turn but in my game with MPE (more provinces) and special buildings and cities of wonders 3 as the duchy of Kent I am up to 145 gold per turn while the average duchy makes around 45-80

Remember that that was also not possible in CK2 right from the start or even 4 years after launch. Even for CK2 it took time until some of the things we see as "essential" had even been established. And with the ability to now play adventurers, we even have something CK2 never had.

I love this mod, it reminds me of the times I played as a republic in CK2, very cool. Funny was the woman he slept with and immediately died, guess he was a 0 in bed. To end this comment I will ask the most important of questions: "Would you be interested in a trade agreement with Eng- Venice?" 🤔
