10:00 Brilliant and atmospheric videography. Good music too... Interesting to see people playing the spoons, we do that in Ireland as well. You have a cinematographer's eye, Grace.

My goodness the 10:40 sunset stunning along with the crabs. Not taking anything away from National Geographic but the proliferation of quality digital filming gear has made that once in a lifetime shot much more common. Wish the world could take and use a page from these beautiful peoples lives. Times might be a little bit better.

That is an amazing atoll. I could see some land, a little settlement, I know there must be coral beaches. Some plantations, Coconut ? Palm, or whatever ? An airport with a 2,800 ft runway ... Built on a very narrow piece of carral land . If there were buildings I couldn't see them. It was foggy. These mysterious atolls would be amazing to visit.

What fun! I wish I knew some French so I could have picked up on some of the conversations. And, boy, those pearls were something else! Now those are "cultured" pearls, correct? Meaning that they place an irritant into the shell which the oyster turns into a pearl.
@CalicoSkiesSailing2 ай бұрын
that is correct! Believe the irritant is coral pieces
@KennyP882 ай бұрын
Phun, phun. Bill, can’t you bolt on some metal to that skeg to protect the prop?
@CalicoSkiesSailing2 ай бұрын
It’s a curved surface 🤷🏻. Not sure what the solution is

Hi guys. How'd you break the "Skeg" off your outboard? That's a Problem. I think they are cast aluminum. Better plan for a new one. Those and prop guards and those planing fins? are pretty cool.
@CalicoSkiesSailing2 ай бұрын
We had a hydro shield on the bottom and we went sideways on a beach landing which generated significant side loading

Recording a track on your iPhone is the modern day equivalent of leaving a trail of breadcrumbs, which, of course would be hard to do in the water. Also, using a blowtorch to light a fire is probably not approved by the Boy Scouts.

Would it work to bolt on a piece of aluminum to your lower unit? Or even a piece of steel temporarily?

Why make so much noise with you’re dinges in such a beautiful and quiet place. It is disturbing to see and I think its is not appropriate to the envirement.
@brucerhodes81972 ай бұрын
I get what you are saying about the environment, but for sailors a dingy is their car, it's how they get around. I'm not sure what else you'd expect they do, swim to shore? They aren't just blasting around joy riding, the dingy is there to serve a useful purpose, without it, they sure wouldn't be able to give us so much beautiful content. I'd also point out, that the locals who live in that environment, use outboards on their fishing boats.
