Sincerely, I do not think voting SHOULD be the be all and end all. A huge part of this channel is your joy in your animals. I feel coming to votes could breed resentment with the audience and/or the animals elected to stay. While it is an awesome concept. The fact some give you doubts should be enough that they are removed from the potential list, which might already begin to chop down the list for you. Please do what is best for you as a keeper over votes, and perhaps tell us why each one is put up to go in some detail. It could be a live list of your personal thoughts that let us see better as the audience and allows you to reflect on why each animal could go.

If it were truly up to Petko he'd probably just keep them all but in order for him to give his other tarantulas more space he has to let some of them go. Each of these spiders has their own traits along with sizes and temperaments. He went over why they're on the list in the video lol. Plus he is giving a new owner a chance to own a spider they dream of having! He is not throwing them away he is giving them to a new happy home! Half of the spiders on the list are Arboreal and usually hidden from sight which is not always the best for making content. He added few terrestrials (some can get quite large needing even bigger enclosures) and some Fossorials that he can almost never see. Voting helps engagement and makes more content revolving it.

*To be honest bud, I don't want to see any of them go. I've been subscribed to this channel for probably 5 or so years, and the entire reason I came here.... Was for these tarantulas and their feeding vids (as well as your addictive personality). You're the sole reason i am no longer an arachnophobe. I know you're not getting rid of them all, but.... Even cutting the quantity down seems like a huge step backwards as far as what videos may be like in the future. I say this with no bad intentions or ill will, but i honestly don't care one bit about the junglearium.... I know that's a huge pride and joy of yours with all the work you put into it, its just not the vids that are going to make me wanna click as much.*

He's said in a previous video that the reason he is downsizing is because he doesn't get to appreciate the tarantulas individually anymore because he has so many. Many of which are always hiding. Too much of anything isn't always good. He doesn't feed every single T in a video anyway, so the quality of videos won't suddenly tank. But at the end of the day, he should be allowed to enjoy his hobby still and if he feels like he needs to downsize to do that, then that's the best course of action. It doesn't mean he won't get new tarantulas from now on either.

Yeah no! If you are burning out then choose the species yourself sounds like your losing the love for the hobby and now only do it for content. Harsh words i know, but I'm seeing a trend on this channel. Those are your animals your responsibility of you actually cared for them you would choose which ones would stay out go yourself not have some weird popularity contest! These are living animals not some inanimate object borderline contemplating about unsubscribing. Yeah i know I'm just one person and not a big deal, but for me i like watching people they do what they love not one who's slowly getting burned out, but forcing themself to continue to make content even going as far as to having viewers vote which animals leave your collection. Yes I'm upset animals are not toys i don't care if it's a spider or a fish all deserve some level of consideration and i feel how this was gone about neglected the base level of consideration. If you don't want to keep some fine choose yourself your audience should not be a part of that process of you actually cared.

He's already explained that he's reducing his collection due to having too many T's that he doesn't actually get enough time to appreciate them individually anymore like he used to. He's openly acknowledged that - but it may still be hard for him to make that final decision on who to say goodbye to. He's obviously made his peace with the 14 candidates but it can still be hard to make the final choice. There's no shame in asking for help in that decision or asking for a vote. This is his livelihood as well don't forget, you'd be stupid to think that obviously content and views wouldn't be at least some sort of contributing factor (as it is for every single hobbyist youtuber) - but it also makes sense to see the opinions and votes of the people who have watched his channel and collection grow. That doesn't make his care for his T's and the hobby any less real. There isn't any indication of him not caring for them or losing love for the hobby, that's just you projecting your own narrative on to him. Him making this decision privately, or with the help of friends, or for a video is in no way a reflection of him as a person and his love for what he does. It's him being interactive with his viewers rather than doing it all off screen and then dropping the bombshell later of "oh they're gone now". You don't have to like it, but rather than make these unfounded accusations of him burning out and not caring - just unsubscribe and be done with it. No need to be a negative Nancy.
