That's what I want to attract a person who isnt afraid to open up. I don't settle. I deserve the best because I give the best. I've been healing and I'm confident that in divine timing that person will show up. I'm living in the present and enjoying the journey.

Exactly true: It takes high self-esteem to not settle. A man who prefers a pushover will be intimidated by a strong woman, and/or...someone who has achieved, accomplished, or survived a lot. Only a secure man can come to that table. Also, men sometimes confuse assertiveness with aggression.

Great info and thanks for sharing this. One thing that is hard as a man being vulnerable is trusting your partner to not use the information later as a missal when there’s a disagreement this is the main reason men keep things inside. It would be nice to be honest and open and not be judged or thought weak.

EVERYTHING you’re describing was to a tee my first 2yrs with the narcissist. Seemed so great, not only great actually healthy and easy and peaceful and mature same values so connected good communication best friends. everything changed when we moved in then it was textbook narcissistic abuse and by then i was committed. and clueless about narcissism or narcissistic abuse cycles. So, yeah.

Thank you so much. You are my lifeline, Stephanie. I’ve been in and out of a narcissistic relationship for 4 years. The verbal/emotional abuse has been there since early on, but keeps escalating. Stepping into this category to want to life partner with someone, it’s about being able to support each other throughout each others success. Especially when their life calls for many positioning. Meeting anyone should never feel as if you always are auditioning for attention and definitely no judgment. If they aren’t ready to handle life’s measures, reiterate which pool you want to connect with.

Love this video! The message about not settling and being confident in ourselves is so important. It's okay to have high standards and to prioritize our own self-love and acceptance. Vulnerability is a strength, not a weakness, and it's amazing how much deeper connections we can form when we're willing to open up and be real with each other. 💕💯

What you discussed can be all well and good during a certain time period in life and when going into the earlier part of a relationship. But don't neglect to consider most people change (their 'needs and wants') as time progresses. These changes can take many years to begin to show themselves. I have learned it is the ability of each individual in the relationship to adapt and compromise where necessary to keep the relationship healthy on all levels. If this doesn't happen the relationship will inevitably end at some point.

this is all well and good if you believe that no one should hold you to higher standards or that you are not to blame for any problems that lead to divorce. men and women, if you refuse to address your own faults you may never marry up or may never marry at all. granted no one can be perfect, but we can become more than we are with a little introspection and daily effort.

I feel like you just described mine and my now fiance's relationship to a t! We are both older, in our 40s and have been through many heart breaks and disappointments. When we met each other, we were at a point in our lives where we were done with the games and we're just looking for acceptance and unconditional love. He is my best friend and we've been together for 5 years. It hasn't been easy and we still struggle, but the love and bond that we share is unlike anything I've ever felt before.

I, am an Empath & HSP. Yep, extremely sensitive and I just have high standards and I won’t settle. And, I no longer apologize for it. It is who I am and that’s that. However others see that…oh well. I will say, make sure that you are communicating constructively and not through the barrel of a verbal shotgun. Otherwise the other person has to either challenge you and make you angrier or people please. Them people pleasing DOES NOT make them weak. It takes a tremendous amount of strength to not lash back when someone is venting at you and saying things they don't fully believe in (or they do but not as extreme as it seems).

You also have to understand that when you get back to dating and your at a certain age me being 54 now after wasting the last 10 years and thinking I was going to spend the rest of my life with her. So what I'm saying is anyone I meet now will have a certain amount of baggage for sure. It's impossible to find someone say 45 to 55 that hasn't been either in a abusive relationship or is hiding something. My ex hid raped at 8 for over 10 years from me. If I had known I would have gotten us help her help but instead her heart was so broken by that I suffered her wrath
