Thank you Jess for your devotional videos. Today was a hard day, watching my beloved husband of 39 years struggle through chemotherapy side effects. Amazing how a total stranger can help get me through a sad day. I am sure you brighten many lives. I don't comment on videos, but wanted to thank you for helping me, especially today.

Just had to jump on here, & tell you I received my copy of your newest book, obviously "The FIRST-TIME Homesteader", two pages in; and you have already brought tears to my eyes, with your description of the romance of homesteading. You have a beautiful way with words. Thank you for sharing your classroom with us. My daughter is moving to Virginia, so I plan to make Leesburg part of my trip, on my first visit out there. Hoping she will come with, as your influence has helped bring her into the gardening mindset. Anyway, Thank you, for being the beautiful Blessing that you are. I Bless you & you precious family. Oh, also it is very special that you have included so many fantastic photos of your children. 😼

My garden mentor used to use an old artist paint brush to "tickle" the leaves! She would gently brush over the plant to do the same thing. I learned so much from her and loved the little names she gave techniques like this one.

Most of the snow melted outside today. And it's 80° in my little greenhouse. Whew. I have a dozen cabbage babies & a big container of lettuce onions & radishes. They are almost ready to eat. When I saw you brush your hand over the tomato babies. Thought you were helping them grow better. I try not to bother my seedlings, don't want to hurt them. Thank you for sharing your wisdom.

I too was greatly saddened the way the veggies grew in the new high tunnel last year. I thought of this scripture. “For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. If I close my eyes and watch very closely I can see, in this years high tunnel, rows upon rows of delicious, happy flowers singing and praising our God.

I've gotten so excited watching your greenhouse growth I caught myself wanting to jump the gun but I know better😔 I tend to start early every year in March indoors but yes they get laggy and end up getting tossed. Maybe I'll just move to a warmer climate😁 thank you to you and your family for the videos. Im sure it takes a lot of hard work and dedication ❤️

I like the idea of the cut flowers - and further to that selling at the market - Alot of the white and cream colored ones would benefit from greenhouse growing as it will protect them from the rain so the flower does not degrade. You could sell in 3 or 5 stem bunches. So many people want the flowers but can't grow them....A bouquet will certainly brighten the home. Great idea.

i want to thank you for your olive oil type tip on home made mayonaise. you are right my regular olive oil made it very bitter. this is my first journey on gardening. I am learning so much. I have done extensive research on the epidemic of cushings disease in horses. round up is evil and viscious on it's devastating effects. my wise farrier said if your hay doesn't have weeds, it's been sprayed. I remember when I was a young girl, it was normal to see some weeds in hay bales. Now there is none. We need to keep pushing to support coalitions of growers that do not spray.
