summary of what to avoid 1. diet soda (and of course soda too) 2. plant-based meat because it is ultra processed. 3. Health bars, granola bars, etc. basically an ultra processed food with added sugars, emulsifiers that can hurt gut microbiome and cause inflammation. make your own granola bar instead of buying it 4. Yoghurt with fruit jelly or supposed fruit. just buy plain yoghurt and add your own fruit on top of it. Stay away from fruit yoghurt

Thank you Sir, explaining about foods, I was raised to eat whatever I like and never portion control. Once I knew better all the blame is on me for my roller coaster lifestyle. I'm once again on the road to better health going on 78. I have never been on meds, how foolish of me to risk my health and life once again, being born healthy. Never to old to learn are wisdom words. I will always need help to listen, for better thinking!

I'm an aged care support worker and one of my clients and her husband drink so much soft drink/soda (95% of their food purchases are full of sugar and salt) and both are dealing with cancer atm. They don't see the connection between the 'foods' being consumed and the impact on our health. I find it so disturbing but more so because part of my job is to assist with grocery shopping 😢

And I have Impossible burger patties in my freezer. Guess that's going in the trash. Too bad because I do prefer the flavor, fortunately I didn't eat them often. I really like Cliff bars. One bar will last the whole week but guess that's trash too. Thankfully I don't eat or drink the other things mentioned.

For the record the folks behind the “Impossible”and “Beyond” products never claimed they were healthy. They did it to cut back on the climate damage caused by industrial meat farming. It was the places selling it that made faulty health claims.

@@jhk5 I heard that the FDA tested it and they said it was bad, then when Ron Reagan was elected, his first action was to replace the FDA person/people that said it was bad. The new FDA people approved it and our health took a bad hit. This stuff is poison. Another sad note is that the main company producing aspartame was owned by none other than Reagan's buddy....Donald Rumsfeld. Our country was taken over a long time ago and our politicians our just script-reading puppets.

Dr Li, please include your citations. I noticed that you don't include them on any of your recent food videos. I am surprised since you are known as a researcher.

There is nothing in this video that needs to be referenced, it’s simple common sense - avoid ultra processed food.

Dr Li, Don't people need lower sugar yogurts? If full fat/whole milk yogurt is good for gut microbiome, then are you saying that full fat cream cheese, milk, sour cream, and ice cream is ok (if minimally processed and no additives) or does this idea only pertain to probiotic/prebiotic milk-based products?
@emmacornish31645 ай бұрын
Dr Tim Spectre et al say that “fermented” full fat dairy products eg cheese, yoghurt, kefir don’t raise blood fats but presumably butter, cream milk etc do, so eat in moderation.

Something else is going on here. Pre-1970 people drank soda, smoked, ate whole fat dairy, consumed sugary desserts with dinner, snacked before bed with ice cream, popcorn, etc. and generally ate 3,000-4,000 calories per day (we now eat 1/2 that) and WERE LEAN and lived long lives.
