Cool that you guys are reacting to this show, but I have to warn you, you shouldn’t watch the last 2 episodes until after you’ve watched The Clone Wars in its entirety. There are some pretty heavy spoilers, and the final episode takes place entirely after the show. Stop at episode 4, finish Clone Wars, and then you should watch the final 2 episodes, as well as Tales of the Empire if you get around to it.

I think even watching it immediately after Clone Wars would loose something of what made episode 5 special. It's hard to explain why without being a spoiler other than, I think having some time in between improved the experience for me and it feels like it was written with that in mind.

Awesome! Reminder: DO NOT watch episode 5 and 6 of Tales of the Jedi until you have finished the Clone Wars completely. Those episodes are centered around Clone Wars characters and storylines that you haven't seen yet and they will spoil things for you. Big things. Feel free to watch the next two episodes though(episode 3 and 4), I even encourage it. But be careful.

The Dark Side is a drug essentially. Think of it that way. Not always an exact one to one, but it’s definitely a pretty consistent way to look at it. To me at least. Very rarely can someone truly overcome falling to the dark side by their own efforts or volitions. Most examples I can think of in ANY continuity needed an outside source of support to come out of it.

Regarding the Sith, there was once a Sith Lord called Darth Vectivus, who is known as the Sith who was not in quest of the ruling of the galaxy or hunting Jedi. He just focused on wielding the force and master it. He never killed anyone.

Again loving the in depth discussions 👌 The ethical/moral issues around how force sensitive children were found/taken is another one of those topics like the clones, thats not discussed enough.The rifle Ahsoka's mother used, pretty sure its some kind of "Slugthrower" they use kinetic energy to fire a "slug" solid projectile, as apposed to energy bolts fired by a blaster. They've appeard a few times in Star Wars, the Tuskan Raiders(Sand People) carry them in the original triology. I was confused when I first saw them too 😂 Getting to see the master / padawan relationship between Qui Gonn and Dooku and seeing the glimpses of whats to come for both characters was so well done.

Tails of the Jedi is great! Though I strongly suggest to finish Clone Wars first before getting to the last two episodes since those take place directly after the ending of Clone wars, Almost like a epilogue of sorts, and would have very, very crucial Spoilers if you watched them before finishing clone wars. I find the approach of watching this so "early" very interesting. Normally I'd only recommend it after starting to love Ahsoka but since both of you did from the get-go then I support (but with the warning of huge spoilers in the last couple of episodes). As for Meg's question regarding the rule of 2: Play KotOR and check out the Darth Bane trilogy of books, I think those are my favorite Star Wars books (some of my favorite Legends comtent too) Finally, I hope we get to see Caleb's tattoo soon, that description sounds amazing!

Jedi are in power, but they don't crave power, they safeguard citizens and they serve the will of the light side of the Force. They are negotiators, diplomats, peacekeepers, they are basically the ones who get sent to places to de-escalate situations mostly through words if they can, but should words fail, they are also trained to fight as a last resort.

I would have waited the end of Clone Wars to watch this one (at least don’t watch the last 2 episodes, massive spoilers in them!) but now just know that Dooku arc is probably the best SW production since Georges Lucas has left Lucasfilm.

What Caleb mentions about how dangerous the dark side is, and how little it can actually take to fall to it is the exact reason the Jedi refuse to take any children whom have grown an emotional attachment to a parent and why also why they are advised to not have attachment in the future. A practice I know the two of you (and many other fans) have asked questions about; if it’s the right thing to do and all. And some people even like to blame this practice as the reason for Anakin’s fall. The mistake was training anakin in the first place, not the practice of letting go of attachments. Nevertheless it would seem like the Jedi would’ve lost their power regardless of whether or not anakin falls to the dark side as they had a lot of other problems too. Ultimately I think letting go of attachments and such may have been the ancient Jedi’ way of preventing their own subjects from falling to the dark side, but I have read nothing on it, just my thoughts… Also the last two episodes of this is better watched directly after the end of S7 of TCW

Be careful watching episodes 5 & 6 of this. They’re incredible, but they have very heavy spoilers for the last season 7 of Clone Wars. Episodes 3 & 4 are fine to watch now, it’s more Dooku stuff that takes place before, and during, The Phantom Menace. They are also incredible, this whole series is great.

Yeah you can't help but sympathize with Dooku, though he was going too far. Even now you can see how the Sith's grand plan was really taking shape. True politicians are always gonna be shady to some degree but the Sith had really been corrupting certain ones to move their plans in the senate along.

Jedi can use the Force to tame animals. You actually saw this very briefly in Attack of the Clones. In the arena, Anakin holds his hand out to the Rhino-like creature and the animal starts shaking its head and calming down. That’s when Anakin starts riding it. That’s what Ahsoka did here.

Shaak Ti and Ahsoka Tano are both Togruta, but Shaak Ti is from the Togruta homeworld Shili and Ahsoka Tano is from a Togruta colony world.

I never thought much of Dooku but seeing this made me see him in a new light. We all know he was a great Jedi and that he was trained personally by Yoda and that Dooku trained Qui-Gon but we see his good intentions clashed with getting results seeing the downtrodden people failed by those who were supposed to represent them and anger he felt because of it. In many ways Dooku was very much like Anakin. This also showed his relationship to Qui-Gon. Dooku was very close to killing someone in cold blood only for Qui-Gon to reign him in more than that Dooku praised Qui-Gon for finding a peaceful solution echoing that Qui-Gon was a wiser man than him much like Qui-Gon would go to say to Obi-Wan in TPM. Seeing what happens to Dooku in the prequels and then seeing him in his early days you can’t help but feel sorry for the tragedy of his life.

Culturally, the Togruta are pretty calm and mature. But also, their head tails give them better senses than a human (my pet theory is that’s part of the reason Ahsoka or Shaak Ti are so powerful. They have sense beyond the force). The Force is known religiously beyond the Jedi who actively study it. Beast taming is a force ability. Anakin used it in Episode 2 against his execution beast

Shaak Ti is from the same world, Shili, but it's the Togruta homeworld so, that's not really saying much. There's as much reason to think they are related as two Humans from Earth, two Klingons from Qo'nos, two Turians from Palaven, or two Narns from Narn.

The Dooku episodes of this show really help to cement why he, and the rest of the Separatists, were kinda in the right. Sure there cause was hijacked by the Sith and corrupt corporations but most Separatist worlds were just places like this that had fallen victim to the corruption of the Republic and had had enough.

There was an old book series called "Tales of..." that were anthology-style compilations of short stories around certain settings, like "Tales of the Mos Eisley Cantina" or "Tales from Jabba's Palace, " which seem to be the inspiration for these series's. Like an earlier commenter said, I'd save the rest of the episodes and Tales of the Empire for after you've finished Clone Wars.

There’s also the Tales of the Jedi comics, which were made even before the Prequels were created. They’re set thousands upon thousands of years before the films, about as far back as you can get in the timeline.

9:30 Funny to mention being open to the Force and hearing the trees bc the Togruta species has a special affinity for the light side of the Force in the same way Dathomirian Zabraks have an affinity for the dark side, Togruta also have enhanced senses because of the hollow lekku on top of their heads that allow them to feel vibrations/sounds from up to 80+ feet away.
