I think that the middle is an all-seeing eye like the illuminati eye, never closes and never stops observing.
@dinoszografos32448 ай бұрын
In my opinion it's more like a specialized eye. It's a modified eye that works more like a sensor than an eye. Kind of like some reptiles that have a third eye that never closes but is different from the main eyes due to size and overall use of the organ. The third eye in reptiles is located at the top of the head, is photoreceptive and is associated with the pineal gland, regulating circadian rhythmicity and hormone production for thermoregulation. I can't say that this is what Magnezone uses it for but it probably has to do with seeing magnetic fields or something since it is a giant nagnet.

i wouldn't go off pokemon go's treatment of shadow eyes to determine whether or not magezone has three. snorlax's eyes and wobbuffet's real eyes both glow in shadow form despite being closed, but cyndaquil's don't, and i think it's a pretty unanimous decision as to whether or not cyndaquil has eyes. alpha magenzone also has a glowing third eye. weirdly, combee's side heads don't all glow in alpha form, just the center one, but that's probably just to ensure you can actually see the thing's faces through all the particles and so they don't cause lag during MMOs. personally, i always saw it as a single specialized eye that's more developed than the adjacent ones since it's connected to the larger magnemite. the inconsistent treatment between media and games is probably an aesthetic choice or individual artists' mistakes and interpretations.

See it in the mist simple way. Before, it was a Magneton, a group of 3 Magnemites, it has 1 eye per each Magnemite composing it. @DanDaFreakinMan8 ай бұрын
I think the middle eye is more like a sensor or simple eye. Most insects and some reptiles have it. It basically only there to detect like light and shadow. But in this case it could've totally just be a laser beam apparatus of some sort since Magnemite's line is very much... robotic in nature. EDIT: Alternate theory. Maybe the single large Magnemite's eye is much more advanced and robotic in nature because it is the most prominent and got the most changes, while the two smaller ones haven't fully evolved yet. If we have a Mega Magnezone, maybe the other two would become advanced as well?

My headcanon is that, after all the evolution magnezone has become much more robotic and mechanical than its previous evolutions and the middle eye isn’t a natural eye, but it is still an organ that processes light and whatnot. I’d imagine it’s always taking in information, even when the magnezone is asleep, and because it’s all robotic and stuff it doesn’t use water at all and therefore doesn’t need to blink or close at all. Hell, it might even be slightly powered by the electromagnetic waves it uses to float (if this is even possible).

The best way to tackle this problem, I think, is to look at other Pokemon that function similarly. The Beldum line is the same principle of fusing multiples of itself together to create a single Pokemon. Two Beldums make a Metang, which makes sense looking at its design. Two Metangs or four Beldums make a Metagross, but it still has two eyes. The only change is two more legs and the cross on its face. I like to think Magnezone's 'eye' is like Metagross's cross, just because the sum of its parts have 3 eyes doesn't necessarily mean it keeps that third eye upon evolution, or if it did, that it would function the same. I like the theory people have about it being a 'sensor' more than an eye.

It might be that the middle eye is just not a traditional eye - it doesn’t have the same pupils as the two other traditional magneton/mite eyes and sits in a location where having a large specialized sensory organ might be ideal Considering Pokémon with 3 fused bodies tend to also have fused brains or some sort of synchronicity between the original 3 minds it might be a specialized viewing organ placed centrally to use the power of all 3 minds This is likely why it doesn’t use the same glow as other eyes when it comes to non evolution but does glow when it forms on evolution. It would also explain why it doesn’t react like a normal eye - it might not even be looking at the world in the way we think
@DarkcIoud1111.6 ай бұрын
Considering Magniton is three Magnimite, it stands to reason that Magnizone would also have three eyes as the three original Magnimite that make up Magniton fuse together into one being. Odds are the central part with the large eye is the main processing part, while the other two small eyes send information to it to carry out tasks. When they are sleep, the large eye continues to process, but can't make a move as it isn't recieving information from the other two eyes so it can't do anything.

If magnezone got the Intimidate ability, I think I could see reasons for it to be only 2 eyes. The 3rd is just for scaring odd predators. Them again, I do think 3 eyes. If 2, where did the 3rd one from Magneton get evolved to?

I’ve actually never considered it. But now I’m thinking, maybe its outer eyes are more traditional, organic eyes, while the middle eye is more like a camera lens. Or something that scans/reads what is in its field of vision, and sends it to a computer like brain for comprehension. It doesn’t really make any sense to also have organic eyes, but it’s a fictional animal in a made up world. So that’s going to be my headcannon going forward.
@luciuseclipse6 ай бұрын
The way I see it the two outer eyes are more organic or simple machinery, while the inner eye is a more advanced or fully mechanical eye that might function more as some kind of sensor. Like an infrared sensor or a camera.

I'm personally in the camp of Magnezone having three eyes. But when it comes to seeing a Pokémon's face completely wrong, nothing beats Regirock for me. Now, I've been told that Regirock's face is supposed to be the seven dots shaped like an H at the top, but I always see its face as this: the orange part on its left chest is an eye, the right side has a closed eye, and the small orange part above its right leg is a mouth. I still see it as this to this day, and my mind is unable to see it as anything except this. Can anyone else relate?

for me it's claydol. I can't not see it as a spider, with the pattern on its body being the spider eyes and its legs being spider "fangs", while its actual head and eyes are the abdomen. also I kind of see the regirock face now, but wtf
@bubbles46853-ep9if7 ай бұрын
@@HopUpOutDaBed Oh, wow, that's pretty crazy. Sadly, I have trouble seeing it for Claydol, as I always could tell it had eyes all across its head. It's still interesting to hear, and I'm wondering if there are any other species that people are seeing wrong.

Magnezone has 3 eyes. That red dot is obviously an eye and I have no idea why people were ignorant enough to not see it that way. It had three eyes in its pre evolution, so obviously, it would have them in its final evolution.

I always thought the middle part was some sort of camera eye, to look out for danger. That must be why it doesn't make any expressions, to be alert at all times.

In my view, the evolution in Legends Arceus does confirm that it is an eye.

Just look at the Gen V animated sprite, 3 eyes. The red eye is more akin to machine camera type of eye, never closes, never sleeps, always watching, always alert.

I think it’s an eye, because that red iris-pupil thing does move around. And it seems to play into its “lock-on” move gimmick, so maybe it’s a modified eye specialized for detection. There are instances of unblinking eyes in nature too, it seems…

the middle eye is a compound eye, or a snake like eye covered in a protective sheath, so it doesn't close.

It's a 2001 Space Odyssey reference. The "eye" is a camera lens similar to how HAL 9000 is presented in that movie. That's why it doesn't show any emotion but still is considered and not considered an eye interchangably. But it's definitely meant to confer that feeling of uneasiness and eternal watcher kind of nature, so it doesn't blink.

@username51557 ай бұрын
The middle part has to be an eye considering it looks around with it in some of the clips you showed. For example, in the Pokémon-Amie clip, Magnezone’s whole body clearly tilts to the side with its outer eyes closed, but its middle eye is clearly glancing at the player and not facing directly forward from Magnezone’s perspective.
@harkharring25727 ай бұрын
I’ve never even considered it as an eye before. I never even noticed the white surrounding the red dot. I’m now more inclined to call it an eye, but if it isn’t a real eye then it would be an imitation eye like how Bellibolt has false eyes, or even Arbok has an eye pattern. I’m now realizing how many false eyes or eye patterns are in pokemon. The only reason why it wouldn’t be a false eye would be that it has 3 eyes in it’s pre evolved form.
@hilariousskullnamedcatzo6477 ай бұрын
it's probably the eye it uses to keep watch when sleeping, since some animals irl keep one eye open when sleeping to not get hunted while sleeping

does no one else think of Cerberus when debating this, its a fusion of 3 separate living thinking things. while 2 sleep one of them stays awake for example, with the center not needing sleep as the other two perform the task for the whole, powerful defense mechanism there as sleep is when we are most vulnerable.

The two Magnemites on the sides are more sentient beings and the eye in the middle is more of a cyborg and they’re all conjoined to create one entity
