I went to Italy when I was almost 13 yrs old and always have wanted to return and even though I threw a coin in the Trevi fountain in Rome , I still haven't been able to. Let's hope that I can return , this time with my husband and my son and his girlfriend, and see all the beautiful, wonderful places you are showing us! There are loads of lighthouses around Ireland, being a small island in the middle of the Atlantic. You can actually stay in some of them overnight as they are mostly automated now.

I agree with you that lighthouses are magical. I go out of my way to visit them when travelling. In my late teens I visited Lucy Island lighthouse station off the north coast of B.C., only accessible by boat or helicopter. One family lived there, everything was shipped in. Their communication at the time was CB radio and they did homeschooling before it was a thing (1970s). We went by boat, a storm found us staying overnight. Lighthouse keepers are always prepared.
