Where do “they” think that the electricity comes from to charge the batteries in EVs?
@tuberNunya7 сағат бұрын
They think it magically appears from the wall.
@Kangenpower77 сағат бұрын
Actually 26% of the electricity in Texas comes from wind power, and 10% from solar power. IT is improving over time. Iowa is 75% wind power. California is about 15% solar power and some part is wind and geothermal power. So it is less polluting than you might think. And the electric cars are much faster than any gas car I have ever been in. They also run 100 miles on 25 KW of power, about $5 or so if you are paying $0.20 per KW. Not the $20 in gas for a 20 MPG car.

It won't take as big of a hit as you might think. They aren't banning people from other states driving their RVs in California. They are just preventing new ones from being sold and registered there. So the large chunk of tourists who are from other states will still come, for a while anyway. In addition to that, many of the people who would have bought a motorhome will just switch to a truck and trailer. They will probably lose most of their tourism eventually for other reasons, not this. They will also see a huge chunk of their economy collapse as RV businesses close and repair facilities go away. And the gas price hikes won't help either.

There is no viable zero emissions vehicle in existence today (if you consider how they make the batteries and how long they last). Don't forget, since they have to dig up half of China to get the lithium for the batteries, it requires 3 times as much diesel to build an EV as it dies to build a real car. And you still require oil for the plastics, upholstery, and the tires.

@@tuberNunya We can get lithium from the US now. We have a vast supply in Arkansas it turns out, and the oil companies are starting to get it. Carbon emissions are considered pollution because the gas negatively impacts the planet. CO2 is a greenhouse gas that traps heat in the atmosphere, similar to glass in a greenhouse. That's correct, everything takes something. Even gas takes 2kwh of energy to produce a gallon from the refinery (I can drive 8 miles on those 2kwh). But then you add emissions when driving it. That's the difference. The result (even the wsj said this) is that in under 2 years all the emissions from producing an EV are swamped by the emissions from burning gas. My 10 year old tesla 2015 is holding steady, I have 90k miles on it. Plus we already recycle battery materials to put into new batteries, and they pay you for them. So we've got a viable lifecycle for EVs now, and it's not just "lifetime" emissions are lower, it's that for a new EV vs a gas car, lower emissions than the gas car in only 2 years of lifetime.

*5 Things Climate Realists Can Be Thankful For This Year* 1 - More CO2 is feeding the world - Increasing carbon dioxide levels are turbo-charging plant and crop productivity. 2 - Modern warming trend is not unusual nor unprecedented - Modern warming began more than 300 years ago, lifting us out of the death-dealing cold of the Little Ice Age (A.D. 1250 to 1850). 3 - Sea-level rise is small and not accelerating - Modern sea-level rise began in the mid-1800s and continues at about the same rate today at approximately 7 inches per century. 4 - For human advancement, warmer is better than colder - Before climate science became politicized, warm periods were referred to by scientists as “climate optima” because, for almost all species on Earth, warmer is better than colder. 5 - More CO2 means moister soil - More CO2 in the air means more moisture in the soil. With more CO2, the pores or stomata are open for shorter periods, the leaves lose less water, and more moisture remains in the soil.

There is no such thing as zero emissions. Electricity, for instance, probably produces more emissions than internal combustion engines. The difference is that internal combustion engines produce their emissions on the road, while electricity and its components produce their emissions in mines and factories.

To clarify, 11 states have not outright "banned RVs." However, there may be regulations or restrictions that make it challenging to own, operate, or park RVs in specific circumstances. These restrictions often address concerns related to zoning, safety, or environmental impact. Here are some key reasons for such regulations:
@IANREA9 сағат бұрын
I’m from the UK, and I have one question, if they ban vehicles of a certain fuel type, size, how on earth do they expect those states to survive without food, etc as it’s delivered on what we call HGVs, or in your neck of the woods heavy hauling. When it snows who is going to clear the snow? Or is the idea to depopulate the vehicles.

@nebula002422 сағат бұрын
I understand the idea behind these laws, but without viable and affordable alternatives I think it's too heavy-handed. We're going to very quickly see the availability of older models drop to zero, since people will be buying them all up and holding onto what they have. For newer models that eventually utilize EV technology, not only are there still not enough EV charging infrastructure widely available in all States, but the cost of these eventual new RV's that meet the new standards is going to be astronomical. On top of that, I can see this having a measurable effect on the tourism industry across the US, in particular the affected States. I'm also curious what the weight of future RV's will be, and if it will dramatically reduce the load they can carry. Seems like it will be only the wealthy who will be able to afford to travel in the near future.

Unfortunately the industry doesn’t change until it’s forced to change through laws and government incentives. If nothing is done, companies just keep lowering the quality to make the most profit. Just look at any new RV, appliance, etc. We can’t keep making crap that pollutes the air and fills the landfill. The lifespan of furnaces and windows is now 15 years, if you’re lucky… used to be 40+ years. We can’t continue like this and we have to consider the world we’re leaving to our grandchildren. Companies won’t change unless they’re forced to change.

VERY MISLEADING!! I understand your desire to maximize your clicks (and therefore earned money), but you (and many other U-tubers) should be honest with your viewers and START OFF by stating that only the SALE of NEW motorized RVs will be restricted in certain multiple states. Yes, I recognize that will have significant impact on RV MANUFACTURERS, but the impact to the RV community as a whole (most of whom don’t go around and buy new motorized RVs every year or two) will be much much less. I recognize it will impact some portion of RV community, but we as rationale humans have to understand that we cant’t just continue to live our lives in whatever way we wish, and continuing to do so will continue to hurt us all, and more specifically poorest people, who probably could never have afforded to buy an RV. Those of us who care for the greater good need to just pull up our big boy and big girl pants and deal with the fact that some of our options are now being restricted (and NOT BANNED) as you’ve implied.
@hardrockminer-5014 сағат бұрын
They said "the sale" plainly at the start. The impact of these regulations on the RV community is the focus of this video but, that is a small part of the population. I guess it’s time to pass EV Hwy tax laws. If you’re traveling through a state in an EV of any kind you will have to stop and buy a state pass to drive through it or into the state. EV’s do not support our roads and hwy maintenance and repair. If you don’t pick up an EV pass to drive through a state and you’re pulled over it will be 3x the cost of an EV pass. EV passes will start at $100 and good for 30 days. It will be an expensive drive through the fly over states. If the woke states want to close businesses with their policies we might as well support other states businesses.

Ok, for starters I like watching your channel and as you say you did some digging? Dig more. There’s a whole lot more information than you posted. There is six states involved, now 11?? There will be extensions on this, what carb/ other states are looking for is as example, ford, making 11%, not in any one given state but overall, 0 emissions trucks, doesn’t matter if they are electric, rubber band powered whatnot. Also the industry can buy credits at a whopping $10,000 per credit. I’m leaving a bunch out but the actual data is that for now there is no ban going forward. Seriously, spend a couple three hours or more and you’ll see. I’ve been seeing a lot of folks on the world of rv youtube knee jerking and throwing a lot of false info out there. I wonder if any of the states will have the infrastructure in place to support zero emissions vehicles. Most of them don't even have the infrastructure in their major cities let alone the suburbs and far outlying areas. Plus, do they have the road surface to support the additional weight that many vehicles? I would love to have an electric vehicle but it's a hard "no" for me until charging is as convenient as filling my car with gas. Not necessarily the actual refueling time but the long waits in many locations before being able to charge as well as the few locations that are available.

This is to prevent people living in RV's, a more affordable option for so many people. Diesel engines have been 'polution' free since approx 2007. Your coach included. If you have DEF or DPF, your vehicle is already clean. This is the stupidest BS ever put out there by any government. What was the point of creating and implementing the DEF, AND DPF's in the first place, which burns or filters out all diesel particulate, if they are now not considered 'effective ' enough?.. this has nothing to do with cleaning the air and everything to do with owning tax based property. They know full well there aren't electric options for RV's, and that's why they came up with this ludicrous new'law'.
