Thanks for the video! here is one thing that I want to mention to you... if you have a lot of build ups on the magnet of that bolt, that means either clutch is not working well or your gear shifting is harsh. The gears shouldn't work rough to have the particles in the oil. Thanks again for the great video!

Yes, good tutorial. Folks- examine the fill plug before opening the drain plug. Crack it open first actually. Could dribble a bit so be ready for that minor inconvenience. 'Cause a frozen fill plug + empty final drive = conveniently no riding until fixed.

Quick question. According to the repair manual, you drain it on the kickstand (so it’s leaning) then you fill it with the bike in the upright position (so it fills up all the way). Is this correct? By the way, appreciate the video. Thanks for making it.

Hey Jo-Anne, your owner's manual should have a section called "ROUTINE MAINTENANCE" or "PERIODIC MAINTENANCE" (can't remember, it varies by bike), which will have a table showing you when everything should be done. It's a good idea to familiarize yourself with that table to avoid problems down the road by being proactive and on top of maintenance. From what I remember it's every 12,000 km (7,500 miles) or at least every two years, whichever comes first. Check the manual to be sure!

Hey there. I don't know what size exactly, but I know the Suzuki part number is 09168-14004 and the price is about a dollar. Today I went for an oil change from a bikeshop, to my horror, the gear oil was LIGHT BROWN like coffee . Do you have any idea? Is there any danger or damage for my bike? Hope you could provide some advise. thanks

After I changed the oil, I realized that I didn't put a washer with the drain plug. I dont think I saw one when I unscrewed it. Maybe it fell in the oil pan when it was draining. But I replaced it without a washer.. is this going to be a problem?
@YouMotorcycle
@YouMotorcycle 3 жыл бұрын
It might cause some leakage, and you might risk overtightening the drain bolt which could cause damage because you're screwing it in an extra few mm more than it's designed to go in. If you want to order up the part number it's 09168-14004 from Suzuki. The cost is about $1. For that price, I would just order it and put it in.

@YouMotorcycle
@YouMotorcycle 2 жыл бұрын
From the instructions (link in the description): All work should be done on a warm motorcycle that is perfectly upright. Not a cold bike. Not a hot bike. Not a bike on it’s side stand. A warm bike that is upright. If the bike isn't straight up, you won't be able to get enough fluid in there. Not having enough fluid can lead to problems down the road.

To be honest I'm not 100% sure. I'm assuming it's all the same with the only possible exception being the oil capacity.
