Great idea 💡! Those criminals wouldn't have a clue about transferring property ownership. Then he could call 911 when he was sure they were gone! The recording of it all is pure gold! These days, everyone needs to have cameras on their house(outside & inside) and if possible, start recording everything..even if it's just going to the front door of your neighbor who's having a loud party at 2am to talk to them about it. I'm *so* glad to hear that he's alive. It could've *definitely* turned out differently. Scary times for us law abiding citizens!

I think that a conviction for kidnapping, and kidnapping alone, should result in a long sentence and that 20 years or more may be appropriate in some instances. Also, I could have been clearer in in my original reply to her-him. I said "maybe what you meant is "threatened injury." I realize now that that I would have made myself clearer if I had said "maybe what you meant is threatened bodily harm"? Could that be what you meant, Rull Vox? I value your opinion.

My mom shoplifts a lot among many other things that are unscrupulous and criminal I remember her stealing several action figures that I wanted at the store and I would be confused how she was able to pay for it when she couldn’t afford it. There’s other stuff she’s done when I was a kid but to other adults that I wouldn’t think she would ever do to me because I’m her son but when I became an adult started doing so. Last year she stole my vehicle when I got out of it and left the keys in the ignition like a dummy, she left me stranded miles away from my house and did not seem sorry when I arrived home hours later These people I’m willing to bet are not above doing something like this to their kids if they had money in the future.

Elton Stephens was damn lucky to escape unharmed. NEVER let someone take you to a secondary location, that's where your compliance should stop
@just-a-fella3212
@just-a-fella3212 Жыл бұрын
That is true in most cases, but Elton was elderly and physically dominated by his kidnappers. He had no choice but to comply with them. But it was not all luck that saved him. Elton is very intelligent and wise, and well practiced at managing business and people. Elton's intelligence and wise people management skills is what saved him. In such dreadful situations one must use whatever strengths and skills one has, be them physical and/or mental and/or other. Sometimes physically fighting and/or fleeing is the best option, and sometimes physical compliance coupled with wise people management is the best option. It all depends on the nature of the threat and on one's own abilities.

If kidnap victims had any choice as to whether they would go to a second location, why not just tell them "NEVER let yourself get kidnapped. That's where your compliance with others should stop." I'm not sure our advice is helpful. Also, experts say that when kidnap victims are being transported, that is the best time to attempt to escape. So what are you suggesting? Stay in the location where you have no chance of escaping?

In Elton's position, I would have assumed I was definitely going to die because I'd think "Why on Earth would this guy let me live? That would make no sense!". I probably would have tried to escape and probably would have been murdered. Either Elton does, as you say, have very good insight into a person's psychology to see that Matthew was genuine, or no insight because he takes unstable and armed criminals at face value 😂 I don't want to disparage Elton but failing to call the police immediately is an indicator of low insight. He was free, but it was more likely than not that Matthew would come back and kill him at some point, or try and extort him again. Calling the police was obviously the only rational choice and the moment he called them, he and his family were guaranteed their security.

While I'm happy that no physical harm happened to Elton, I can't help but be impressed by how romantic Matthew and Tabitha were with each other. Both offered conflicting stories about the event that didn't involve the other one too much. They didn't change their stories to throw each other under the bus to appear innocent. They were inept scum, but they were partners in crime.

I don’t know how this could’ve happened, but I think I lost a couple of IQ points just hearing the story. I haven’t even finished listening to the shit in my mouth is still hanging open at the ridiculousness of the thieves. The fact that they think that they really thought they were going to get away with this was just mind blowing. And how they went about it was even worse.
