Oh, I think Lebron evolved for sure. 1. He realized he can't shoot free throws or shoot from farther than 3 feet from the basket reliably, so pass the ball in crunch time. 2. Once he understood 1., he realized he could scapegoat other players (and coaches) for his failures. 3. He learned how to manipulate media to support his scapegoating, and self-aggrandizement. I used to root for Bron back in his Cleveland days when majority of my peers hated the man. Actually felt bad for him losing in 09, 10, ringless king & Bron didn’t had 4th quarter for a full dollar jokes. Didn’t even cared that he jumped ships to Miami but bragging to come up short was humiliatingly disappointing in 2011. Good for Bron that he will not finish as ringless king as deserved based on how impactful he is to a team, but every last bit of respect went out the window in present day when he had the audacity to say he had no help in 2011. Integrity goes both ways for winning and losing, win like a man, lose like a man.

I'll say this, when he first entered the league I wanted him to be that guy. He spoke about the players that came before him with reverence, and a ton of respect. He also had a solid understanding of the history of the game and what it meant to be the NBA's standard bearer. He appeared to work hard, and he wanted the responsibility for being the leader of a team. And then he started listening to all the chirping in and out of his camp, and he became the most insufferable, insecure, me first athlete I have ever seen in my entire life. And once the whole KLUTCH media interfering with unbiased reporting started, and he called himself the GOAT, I was done with him. He literally has no one to blame but himself for all the vitriol thrown his way, and he deserves every single bit of it.

I think LeBALCO was a very promising player with the entire NBA to his disposal to become one of the actual best players ever but he opted for crying, running away and doing everything wrong, he just got lucky to be dubbed "The Chosen One" right from the beginning so media had to go with that narrative. Regardless, he never did nothing new, maybe he was good for an 18 years old but he never went to college and you can tell, all he does is rely on his body but he has no fundamentals, never had them so his game is always clumsy as hell and never changed.

I was also one of those guys who are hyped up even before entering the league. Being a fan of KG, Kobe and Tmac, who were all highschoolers that went straight to the NBA, I was so impressed on the way he entered the league and what he has accomplished along the way... I looked pass his shortcomings both in his game and how he lost. Again, I already knew back then he maybe very athletic and capable, but a lot of things are still missing in his game. I looked past that and how early signs of stat-padding are there. But, I had hopes he would improve because he is still young. Kobe is my guy and I really believed he still owns that era, but I really thought LeBron was gonna be next real torch bearer. And then he did that aweful and disgusting "The Decision". Never have I lost respect for a basketball player who supposed to be best and next torch bearer of the league gave up and ran to join other superstars to win rings and had the audacity to proclaim how many championships they'd get, only to very embarassingly lose to Dallas. And guess who went AWOL in that series??? Yes, I'm looking at you LeCoward! And we all know what happened to the rest of the story up to now. --- Left Miami and his "good friend" G@y Wade because he don't have use for his old ass anymore, constant team jumping and superteam building, throwing teammates, coaches, organization under the bus, quitting even when the cames are not over, whining, crying, flopping, manipulating the media, crowning and calling himselt the GOAT, bashing on his 2011 Miami teammates even though its his fault, I can type in more but I guess people with real brains and real fans of the game know what they are. LeBron did not evolve his game, he drags teams to revolve their system to his bagless statpadding style of play, while standing around on defense. He didnt isnt a generational influential hooper like MJ and Curry. Again, no Lebron didnt evolve post first Cleveland stint, he devolved, and the worst thing is he dragged the game and the league along with him.

It truly is incredible how similar my opinion to yours is. I had a poster of LeBron in his early Cleveland years. Then Miami happened, flopping and all the arrogant comments happened, then I started to dislike him for his off court and on court antics. But to his credit, I think his court vision got a little bit better, his assist highlight reel is pretty impressive.

Your conclusion there is exactly what I've been sniffing -- the ball-dominant LeBron system doesn't allow the rest of the team to get into their flow. Saw this affect teammates like Love, George Hill, Larry Nance Jr, etc in the second Cleveland stint and the Lakers the last few years. Been watching old games and seeing Bird's Celtics and Jordan's Bulls, during their dynasty years, weren't playing spectator to their stars and waiting to catch-and-shoot 3s unless they were Kerr, Hodges, Armstrong and that was their specific role they came into the game for. Watched Danny Ainge and one of Boston's bigs run their own two-man give-and-go play where Ainge got an open 2 parallel with the baseline and knocked it down. No starpower needed for that, it's a fundamental offensive play that even very good role players like Ainge can do to lighten the load on Bird and McHale. Can't recall seeing that sort of thing on many LeBron teams.

It took Kenny "The Jet" Smith on a recent podcast to make me really understand how game-changing hand-checking is. When you're handchecked, you're going to lower your torso, turn your body away and dribble the ball defensively with the furthest hand away from him. So he doesn't pick your pockets. What happens when you do that? Your head/shoulders/hips/feet are pointed away from the basket. Your view of the court is limited, you're not always squared up at the basket ready to shoot anytime. Take away handchecking, and now you've got all these guards who look so amazing passing the ball with court vision and shooting the ball efficiently. Past legends could have done so too if the game rules allowed them to.

I had this conversation with my 29 yr old nephew a while back about LeBum vs LeBron. LeBum is who he is now. LeBron was the player they claim he is today. I told my nephew when Bron went to Miami and bulked up. That was the end of him basically. Yes he did have some nice seasons there. But he learned he could truck people and get calls. His game would never evolve. And over time, his game has gotten lazy. He started by not playing defense. And now he rests on offense half the time as well. Him getting huge made him become stiff. And imo, he should've started playing PF and taking on a game like Karl Malone ( screw him BTW) cuz him and Kyrie together, letting Kyrie be a PG and doing pick and roll together like Stockton n Malone would've been money all day

The past few years the stats and media tell us he's shooting really well from 3. But you watch when he shoots 3s and he's not tightly contested. Opposing teams don't fear his 3 pointer. Meanwhile Kobe was tightly contested on so many 3s and some people call him a worse 3pt shooter than LeBron just based off the percentages. I can see why the wiser NBA fans say "Don't just look at stats! You've got to watch the games and use the eye test too"

Yep, he kind of promising because of the hype. But I just really didn't saw it in him. The killer instinct was just not there. I really got a bad feeling when Lespn showing his high school games. Then NBA in 03, nah.. he was given with the key to the city. Back in 96 kobe got to sit back. But following yr, he showed what stuff he can do as off the bench. I really liked how he was schooled by Mike in 98 all star. Showing him if you want to be me you have to reach the bar that I set. And Kobe really did tried his best. Balco? Nah, he reached the playoffs in his 3rd yr. He made the Finals in 07 and was swept. Following yr Cavs giving him multiple time all stars removed like 1 or a couple of yrs. The problem that I'm seing back then he really want those 3ple doubles instead of winning the playoff games. His good for highlights for me that's it.

Everything he did when he came in the league we've seen before. Tomahawk dunks, lack of midrange and no consistent 3 pointer... we've all seen that before. He did not do anything new when he came in. He only averaged 20ppg as a rookie, now go look at MJ or Wilt ppg as rookies, those are numbers we've rarely seen before.

@@pambrown5625 it's not a narrative. I've watched him play since he was in high school. I remember my homie told me about this beast of a player named Lebron. I thought yea this ni66a gonna be great. Knew he'd probably have 2 develop his game but athleticism wise off the charts... and it's been that way since then. Fundamentals sloppy he's gotten 2 the point where he doesn't play defense and the flopping is just egregious. That's about the only part that evolved was the flopping.

Dude was a monster back then and I thought yea once his game develops he's gonna be great. When he left and went to Miami I wasn't mad I was a Wade fan and was glad he was getting help. Then the 2011 finals happened and I was like wtf what's wrong with Lebron. Little did I know his game hadn't changed. They used the same defensive strategy the Spurs and Celtics used. He went to Hakeem for some post moves... tell me Pam does Lebron have any post moves...No his foot work is trash. How is your footwork trash after working with Hakeem. Kobe worked with Hakeem and his footwork was immaculate . Lebrons handles also trash and he's a turnover machine. So I don't need to watch a video to know what I've already seen after 20 years. He's athletic and that's it. No sound fundamental skill just big and strong.

Lebron in his 1st stint in Cleveland threatened to leave the team for FA if his roster wasn't upgraded with talent. The Cavalier organization did everything they could to appease the boy....but he STILL left leaving Cleveland out to dry.

So this video cherry picks his best moments from his FIRST stint in Cleveland. But he leaves out them not making the playoffs, and the times every one watched him quit on the court. I sat in the stands and watched it multiple times playing Boston. The big 3 Celtics would be a pretty comparable team to the 80s Celtics, the way the rosters operated. LeBron quit against the big 3 and they say he had no help, going to Miami gets justified by the younger participation trophy generation. MJ dropped 63 in a loss, never giving up, with no help, stayed in Chicago and worked harder. They added ROLE players not superstars and eventually won. The bad boys took the torch from the Celtics, because they hit their peak first, and the bulls took it from them.

His shooting % is deceiving. It's just layups, putbacks and dunks. High percentage shots that a big guy like him can make with ease. Actual shooting though? He's a garbage mid range shooter (below 40% at least). A mediocre FT shooter. And a mediocre 3 Pt shooter. Go look at his averages by feet from the basket. 0-3 feet, he's excellent. The further away you start getting from the basket......it ain't pretty.
