The Grateful Dead is the greatest American rock band and in my opinion. Jerry Garcia was the lead singer, he was only 45 at the time of the video. He had a touch of grey young. Haha

I'm a big dead head. Took me a long time to start liking this song, but I do like it these days. It's not one of their best, but I think it was their biggest hit, and brought them a whole new audience due to the clips popularity on MTV.

This song was the gateway to the Dead for a large group of fans who discovered them at the later stages of the band. One of the few songs they had that broke into "the mainstream" and got a lot of radio play at the time. If you want to get deep into a rabbit hole of American music, the Dead offer that in spades. I'd say check out some of their earlier work from say the 70's next. The live material is generally regarded as much better than their studio work, although albums like American Beauty are classics. One of my favorite songs!! The 80s were awesome. I hope lead singer Jerry Garcia is truly gratefully dead. He is missed.

Listen to Alligator (1968 Mix) off of Anthem Of The Sun when you get a chance. Very creative and skillfully edited song. A lot of money was put into the album and it's a great interpretation of their heavily edited, Psychedelic jam period. ❤
