ay, do you think that little 'rasp' that sounds like vocal fry but isnt, but is actually just lower notes that baritones have at the bottom of their speaking voices is an indicator of the separation of baritones and tenors? ive noticed that basses (ex: thurl ravenscroft) and bass-baritones (ex: barry white, avi kaplan) speak in these kind of 'raspy clicks' at speaking level, while baritones do as well but mostly if they're quieter and speaking lower in their voice (ex: morgan freeman, barack obama) while tenors, lack this 'raspy' sound. even very deep, dark and heavy tenors (ex: adam driver (voice of kylo ren from starwars), youtuber/streamer moist critikal aka penguinz0 aka charles white jr., bryn terfel (even though it says he is a bass-baritone, im certain he is a tenor), and believe i am myself a tenor despite a very deep sounding voice.) EDIT: this dramatic tenor from this channel also fits the description im talking about (deep, dark heavy, but not necessarily a 'low' voice, also lacking the 'baritone rasp'): kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJ-ZqKKubbaJhc0 i also believe that dramatic tenor is a lower-than-average voice already, most men might just be untrained lyric tenors, i remember on your channel that a lyric tenor started off as a baritone, so i figured it might be plausible considering many men also lack that 'baritone rasp' im talking about (this portion is irrelevant to the question i was asking, but more of another observation ive made)

No, he has no "rasp" or vocal fry sound in his voice whatsoever. Maybe it is the recording quality of these that is throwing you off. And when the voice is very large with a lot of overtones it is very difficult for the recording device to handle. And modern devices will alter that excess energy into this kind of static or even airated quality or noise. He has none of that nor did the other student you referenced. On the other hand, these devices take small voices, even aspirated voices, and up the clairty. They have this built in equalization. So small voices record well and big voices cannot be recorded well.

😂😂 no. I was confused as a baritone several times. I’m a tenor. Tenors shouldn’t sound like little pre pubescent teens when they speak. They are men.

Its been more than one year of study, but not a lot more. I don't keep track. It doesn't really matter.

I don't pay attention to that. More than a year for sure.
