@@chitownbuck6389 i use to be a big rocafella fan. Jay was the one who got me into rapping and the artform. Beanie was the future. And after that one interview he spoke abt how Jay was in the same position as Liles and he straight up said "no." Beanie said that was the day he broke his heart as brothers and to this day, thats why he prolly would never work with Jay again. He aint diss him cuz he can add it up as to why he would say no as a business man. but he said that changed how he looked at him in regards to friendship/brotherhood bc he did things for Jay in honor of him that mightve put them in different seats in that court that day. But he was loyal to Jay in ways we dont really see today. Thats why even as a business man, Liles is doing a real solid move and actually feels close to Thug. Cuz ppl talkin but its actually more beneficial for him as a business move to detach from Thug due paperwork/insurance clauses that blatantly could charge Thug for being in a position to terminate his contractual obligations/expenses. Thats why they say RECOUP investment when artists sign and its based off a budget. Thug would be costing the biz money and reputation from this case. 300 wouldnt be a multimillion dollar business if they didnt have options to actually financially gain withouy assisting a business partner inder litigation. Thats why NBA is in a bidding war wit Atlantic despite being on house arrest. NBA has 100% ownership so if he falls, he still makes money without Atlantic and they want more pull on his ownership bc if he goes away, it aint like 300, theyll be shit out of luck on anything he releases from here on end.

First of all, that's not hip hop. That's that whack rap they listen to nowadays. Hip hop is metaphors. The subject matter The beginning and the ending like a little story but that stuff they doing them that's going to roll up and kill you wrote spend the block don't get me wrong. I'll hip hop had some crazy stuff but you had Scarface Tupac I can name the list goes on. They told you to consequences for that life. Now it's no consequence. And like I said that's right not hip hop
@dannyf31352 жыл бұрын
I agree with Kevin Liles regarding lyrics, yes lyrics that are for entertainment purposes should not be able to used in court proceedings. However the very thing Hip Hop hangs it’s hat on and is so important is. ( I’m a real one I don’t cap in my raps, I rap about what I live. The problem with that is Murder, Robbery, Selling Dope, Criminal Gang Participation is illegal. Young Thug raps about all of the above and his lyrics have a direct connection at times to real life crimes that have happened. If tomorrow Justin Bieber starts singing about robbing banks and the banks that are robbed have surveillance of him in the vicinity prosecutor’s would use his lyrics against him. Sad state of affairs truly for YSL, had life by the short hairs but wanted to keep portraying and being street thugs so here they are. They don’t like it and are whining about the prosecution’s using the road maps to their crimes ( albums, lyrics, IG posts ) against them. Crazy, hope they can plead it down to something manageable. Their families will be able to visit still, family members of the men they participated in murdering can only talk to a tombstone.

These rappers claim to rob, sell drugs and murder on and off the record and then want to say it’s “just entertainment” when they are in trouble. I’ve never heard any action hero claim to do the craziness they do on the big screen when they leave the set. You’ve gotta have the brain of the fish in Finding Nemo to get rich and continue to live that lifestyle. Good riddance.

We can’t advocate for black art at the expense of our community and young black boys and girls who will potentially create it🙅🏽♂️ I’ve met Kevin (I’m from his hometown) and although I think it’s cool to go to bat for your artist who is facing serious criminal charges, I find it troubling that he doesn’t advocate publicly or as passionately against the crime and violence that is plaguing his home town city. Over 300 murders for the last several years, vacant houses in abundance and the school systems, if in any other community, would be classified as a state of emergency. Would he be in that court room if Thugger was a mediocre artist? That would prove to me if it was really about protecting black art or his bottom line.

They had to take him off the streets to send a message. The police and infrastructure of the city can't handle violence. The city wanted him gone because they can't advertise and gentrify that area with crime happening. It's about insurance, money and property values. It's sad to see that this man is being prosecuted due to a past and present he was never in control of until he gained wisdom. You can't always outlive an outwork drama set in motion by doing good. I hope this spectacle serves as a magnifying glass into what life is about. The truth is it wouldn't matter if he saved the mayor's momma, they would come to get him all the same. I am old enough to remember when hip hop first record came out. Hip hop used to be a safe place for our kids. Now you got young impressionable minds being influenced by the worst value system that is spelling doom for our people. An entire generation of black folks is under a trance,while their subconscious minds are being fed a continuous flow of glorification that it's clout to kill our brothers and sisters and treat our women in abusive ways. This isn't culture. It's barbarism. Culture enlightens the mind,up lefts the human condition and moves the society of a people forward. If it's not doing that it's not culture. It is instead what is known as barbarism.
