“How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the best quality products and we’ll show you how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that simple.
Welcome to the Young Nails family!

I always struggled with this bc I never had anyone to compare to i mainly do acrylic design and the only thing in my area is 1 chop shop and another one about 15 20 mins away and they only offer basic sets you get clear acrylic with whatever gel polish you choose no one uses colored acrylic but then i realized that's actually great for me bc no one does what I can do so I can charge whatever I want but I definitely remember that fear and thinking no way am I only charging 30 dollars like they do so I just wouldn't take clients bc of the fear they wouldn't want to pay what I was worth. Then I realized even in a tiny broke town like mine there are those people that want to pay.

This video was super helpful. Gave me great insight and info. I'm not a licensed tech...I had gone to school all the way until like month from grad but had health issues so I dropped out. Now I live too far to continue it. However I was fully trained on everything and so I opened a at home shop as a part time gig and the Young Nails products (Monemer, a few powders, & protein bond) were given to me and OMG BEDT PRODUCT EVER!!! I'll never use anything else. Love love love them. I even got my friend onto your products and she just does her own nails lol.

1:21 is where is at! I set my prices at salon prices (market price usually) as I’m just a beginner. I then set a discount of 40% bc I am still a beginner, but it keeps the customers coming. 65 for a set, then give a 40% discount- not too bad.

I just finished school today and am hoping to receive my license when the State Board opens back up. 🎉🎉 While coming up with my beginning prices, I compared to local salons, both low-end & high-end, determined what kind of experience I wanted to give in comparison starting out and priced myself in the middle at $30 for a full set & polish, $35 for a full set & gel, and additional for extras. Is that fair considering I JUST got out of school and am still learning, but my work lasts, has little to no lifting, and looks good? Should I charge more? Thank you so much for your tips!

I can't actually make a profit put of doing nails due to age and I'm not certified. But I will charge 10 dollars per person just to 'cover the price of the material' any tip, if I get any will be my money but it's not always a guarantee. I'm 14 btw. I've been painting nails since I was 7.

Where i live i went to a salon my friend used to go. And she got a set of acrylic nails very simple desing 3 colors of plish for $80 and I got just a natural nail gel polish with like 10 fake pearls and i was charged $54. Never again got my nails done. Lol instead i started doing my own. But that's just me. There's people willing to pay that or more so dont be afraid to raise your prices

What do you do when you have a large group of immigrants (I won’t say where they’re from) who’ve opened dozens of chop shops and are charging $25 for a full set? I have several nail tech friends who can’t charge over $40 for a full set. One tried charging $60 (she’s amazing, btw) and lost all but one client? The community here is just awful. I’m not trying to sound argumentative, I genuinely want suggestions to improve our community, and have us making a livable wage.

When the chop shops rip their nails off, or cut them, they'll come back if your service is good. However, make your area look good, super clean, bright and friendly. Offer a service not a conveyor belt, make it a great experience to come to you.

Choose your competition. If you offer the same and there’s no difference between your shop and another, you will only get bargain shoppers. Also, stay the course-if you lose clients find new ones. Don’t just shut down just bc things change.

I am so sorry to comment on the video like this but you are giving NO INFORMATION at ALL.... Set the prices like the salon your joining??? What if they do not know what hell they are doing. Salons have too many pricing errors and no profit margin and barely make ends meet!! Etc Etc..... There has to be some sort of formula or equation to figure this all out --- OH WAIT -- There is one!!! Its in the "FILE" section of the Young Nails FB Group. It explains how the price of your service must cover 4 things: 1) Your operating costs - rent, electric etc etc. 2) Your supplies. 3) Profit. 4) Your take home pay. Once again its in the FILES section on the FB Group page. I put it there. Its called " Op and Service Cost" .... Yes I understand its a tiny bit of reading, 8 minutes tops and about 22 minutes of calculating a few numbers..... So invest in yourself and 1/2 hour and get those prices where they should be. This is not rocket science and I am not claiming my way to be the 100% TOP DAWG thing to do.... but follow the advice and you will succeed in paying your bills, buying your supplies and taking home a DECENT WAGE. Keep your head above the water and not gasp for air every 30 days........... facebook.com/groups/601587713686251/files/ ........... and I better not hear the words "I cant charge that cause I am in a small area/town/just starting out"...... if you dont follow the advice with an actual formula, how are you going to pay any of your biz expenses and pay yourself to keep your house/car/kids/etc afloat. If the file doesnt download, feel free to message me with your email and I will send you a hard copy - I am also a member of the YN FB Group .

$30-$40 is an average price for a full set of acrylic or dip plus more for the extra stuff.. I am still a beginner so I charge $25-$30 and at the moment I only do dip and hybrid gel. Nor do I have glitters, stones or art work. I guess I’m a basic beginner 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

YoungNailsInc You think so?? Besides being still new at it I don’t I have a huge selection of products to offer. That’s another reason and it still takes me on average about 1.5 hours to do a full set. Can you imagine if I did do extra 😆
@tarasnow-burch7203
@tarasnow-burch7203 4 жыл бұрын
@@monicaandrada2610 I can imagine you doing extras. Spend a few extra mins and you just might find yourself earning that extra income you need. Find out what your clients are drawn to the most and start charging for it. Remember most clients come to you in your space as a time to themselves to shut down and relax. I don't think your going to have any of them complaining about a few extra mins.

I need to know if the price here in my salon is right. I live in Canada and me and my manager are somewhat new at doing nails. So his idea of pricing nails I think isn’t all that fair sometimes. Like for example a full set of gel nails will cost $60.95 tax included and then a fill will cost $51.75 tax included. Would you say that’s a fair price ?
@youngnailsinc
@youngnailsinc 4 жыл бұрын
Check out some of Tracey's how much videos she breaks all pricing down and why. Also explains how to get the same amount of money regardless of what services are being performed. As in 1 full set in an hr vs 2 fills in 1 hr. etc.

Dollar nails are only going to last so long: eventually everyone has to raise prices: if you start at a fair price people won’t be offended when you need to raise it as long as the quality is there. Just because someone can get something cheaper doesn’t mean they have a better experience. Focus on honing your skills and you’ll be fine.
