Boundaries are not attractive, they are, by design, repulsive. It is not boundaries, but the ability to recognize and say "No" to stupid bull-shit. (Otherwise, agoraphobics would be sex symbols, their boundary is "the world.") "No" is the most important answer, because without the ability to say "no", you never have the ability to say "Yes". (If you can't say "no", you never had a choice) Having boundaries is attractive to those who wish they could give "no" for answer (moreso than to people who already know how to take "no" for an answer). If a person wants to manipulate you, your boundaries are only fun if they can bypass them. If they think they can bypass them, and they are wrong: They will try to destroy you for making them feel powerless(none of their manipulations are working). Boundaries you defend, are the best place to subtly or covertly attack. Announcing boundaries announces where you will respond with force, it shows not where you are strong, but where you needed reinforcements....And where you can be manipulated. I try not to defend any boundaries, most people that get you to defend a boundary, are studying your response. I try to give them no information about my defenses or weaknesses. Unless they are close to me I will never communicate a boundary. Basic human boundaries are common knowledge to all humanity, I don't need to teach or preach the obvious to the offender: they are hoping you will "teach" or "preach", it shows to need to be seen as smart or occupying the moral high ground.
