God damn this make sense, didnt get knee surgery but my knees hurt occasionally which makes me ultra aware of my movement, which makes walking a task.

@@9547-s8o I did too in the 14th. I used the hamstring graft, and meniscus fix. Of course nothing like the first week and even the first 3 days was soo painful. I reduced my swelling and my pain. After a week and a half I stop my pain killer. I do a lot of massage and physical therapy, I think maybe on next 2-3 week I feel like I would be able to walk. And actually Neymar also done this surgery week before us

The brain is doing that for a reason. Be arsenal it doesn't want to go through the insane trauma and depression of acl surgery again Think of it as a blessing that you can still walk and run.

not surprised to hear this at all after tearing my acl 18yrs ago and recently tearing it completely…i know i’m not moving like i did…it’s about preservation now

Our Native ACL has spatial awareness cells while the graft placed has none, after surgery Our Brain has to make up for that extra info by itself. Unfortunately learnt this when my ACL was gone. 😅

Four months post ACL/meniscus surgery, I'm still swollen and my knee is popping, but I am very active and work out daily, so I may be overdoing it. A high quality compression sock (foot to upper thigh) minimizes the issues almost completely and I walk and even jog with confidence. But the fear or reinjury is persistent, so it will be interesting to see what my brain allows me to do five or six months from now when I return to ultimate frisbee.

For professional athletes, the minimum post op recovery time is 9 months. If you return before that, your probability of a new tear increases a lot.

And you should. ACLs are precious and must be protected. Most people recklessly abandon their ACL’s because they don’t place value on them
