Hearing the phrase "path of least resistance" really does rustle my Jimmys when talking about electricity. Electrical current will follow ALL paths of resistance, not just the lowest, given enough potential. There is voltage potential across ALL paths of resistance! A "ground wire" or negative/neutral conductor must be able to carry the same amount of current as the positive conductor! Redundant ground connections can cause unwanted noise or interference in AC or digital circuits, referred to as "ground loops".
@dledsdleds4329 ай бұрын
Absolutely correct! It has to look like a tree. The root being the ground terminal and every leaf one consumer... And as on a three there are no leafs who are grown from two separate branches into one leaf... That will, as mentioned, create current loops...

I liked the park where you compared wiring to make-up, and mentioned the tucking. Preach, queen. 👏

Don’t leave the unused connectors sitting there on the engine. They are not sealed so open to corrosion. They also contain ZVR and reference voltage which as you noted are shared with others. If those short it’s a bad day. You can probably get mating connectors for them and instal seal plugs in those to seal and protect the system.

I think that piece of rubber hose in the middle of the steel fuel line was so that ford could make one "front half" fuel line for all there trucks and then have a separate line for whatever the back half required for example a crew cab long bed has a very different rear half fuel line compared to a short bed or bronco. also I'm pretty sure that's where they put the switcher valve on the dual tank models. one other thing, I would be a little concerned about is only soldering the battery clamps on. I did that on my diesel and after a few years I started having weird issues with it acting like it only had one battery occasionally so I crimped them on with a crimper that looks exactly like the one you have and its been working fine ever since.

This channel has got to be the best repower channel on KZbin. That said, would absolutely love to see DBG do a Common Rail Diesel repower on a 2 Door Jeep Wrangler TJ with an auto trans. Yes, I said auto trans, not only because it's a relatively challenging repower, but also because few (if any) KZbinrs have been able to pull off an actual (non-4BT) CRD 2 Door Wrangler TJ w/an auto trans!

FYI ALL....I've repaired a my BernzOmatic torch igniter with a dollar store (torch style) lighter they sell at the checkout. (for 2 dollars). BernzOmatic does not sell the replacement igniter for any less than a new unit. I did use small spacer behind the igniter unit as it had a slightly different stroke compared to the original. That was a year ago....still works great. It was the "BernzOmatic TS4000"

For ’79, the 351M V-8 was standard issue in the Bronco, while the 400 was optional, and no six-cylinder was offered. But with the 1980 redesign, the 119-hp 300-cu.in. inline-six joined the lineup alongside the 137-hp 302 and 138-hp 351M V-8s. In ’82, the 351 Windsor V-8 replaced the 351M. According to Todd, the early engines were underwhelming and Ford heard about it.

43:00 The power will go through every path it can, but the amount of power each path will carry depends on the resistance of the path. So most of the power will take the path of least resistance, but not all. Regardless it doesn't really matter what path it takes, so long as it has a path to take with a low enough resistance.

Just a suggestion, but maybe an aluminum crown Victoria radiator? 1998-2002 had the coolant expansion tank was on the radiator and in the exact same spot your gonna put it. The lower rad hose has a T in it that goes to the expansion tank. You could even get the fancy police interceptor hoses that are silicone from the factory

Just an fyi. Fine stranded cable can handle more amps the mthe same gauge with thicker strands. Its due to the total surface area of the copper.

Ahh, Bernouli’s Principle. Know it well. Increase in flow = decrease in pressure. If you’re concerned about a pressure drop in your filter outlet and have about 3/4” to spare in and out, try this next time. Note: I’m most familiar with 1/4” and 3/8” stainless tubing, so please modify to your sizes. On the filter outlet, insert a 1/4” to 3/8” union fitting. Then connect a 3/8” elbow. Then another 1/4” to 3/8” union, in reverse of course. This will decrease the flow through the elbow, diminishing the pressure drop.

28:00 i have had the glue from the inside of those filters peal off... so installing them "backwards" traps everything, they wash out with soap and water just shake them in the bucket... it all falls out. "glue chunk from inside of filter clogs pump, is backwards backwards" should exhaust smoke be lightly black when flooring it?
@ardennielsen37619 ай бұрын
backwards is not backwards, because just like the oil filter... if its a restriction, their is a spring in it as a high pressure bypass, tho it has to such very hard to utilize the full range of mechanical engineering that's put into those filters, $1800 for the 400gph lift pump just to run a stock motor, and it still goes lean on the top end.

@Jimmeh_B9 ай бұрын
I don't understand the comment about not using cables with fine strands for high current. The total cross sectional area is the only current limiting factor and the individual strand size makes no difference. Finer strands though, means more flexibility. Flexibility, especially in high vibration environments, is a good thing for reliability. Usually, the finer stranded cables are more expensive for that reason.

Granted, if your rabbit is older and no longer working properly, it's tempting to bypass it. But you will soon learn the folly of not having a functional rabbit mounted in the appropriate place in the system.
