@@tropzx yeah I went in and cleaned that up today, It was Gladiusex and I ended up uninstalling it for Gladius and just that alone makes things a lot cleaner (those party frames on the left side are gone now). I gotta mess with my threatplates to get less bloat on the health bars and I need to either uninstall gladiatorlossa and just learn all the different symbols for the cds or I need to make gladiatorlossa not call out every little detail like that, it is just way too much at default settings.

Gladiatorlossa can be very helpful. The problem is most people download it and never open the addons settings. Before you use it, you should go into the settings and turn off everything. Than afterwords slowly read through all of it and only turn back on key abilities that can win or lose a match

Was looking for this comment. I think theres also a throttle spam feature. I use it on MSBT too so I dont get confusing damage numbers everywhere. I also set minimum value damages before they are shown. I dont care about 200 or 2k ticks, I only want to see damage above 6-8k. Cleans up the screen a lot.

Exactly im glad and use losa. You just have to turn it off for a lot of things. I leave it on for things like incarnation, combust, etc. Mostly so I know when to trade defensives or save a teammate without looking or even if I miss seeing the icon.

Honestly, it’s nothing but up for this dude. He already has the game knowledge of which target should be killed each round, and basically just got a 1 on 1 coach session on the script of making that target die (kidney vs garrote on targets, blind / smoke bomb, shutting down enemy go’s with your own pressure). Its a really good topic, have had this discussion numerous times with guildies / mates. For some reason people that have issues tracking something think the solution is to overflow their screen, while the real fix would be to keep reminding yourself to be mindful of it and have patience learning this. The “Quick fix” philisofy is slowing their learning curve and causing major damage to their awareness. Im no saint, i think most of us have tried to do this at one point, i know i have. “Less is more” is really a fitting saying here.

I spent some time thinking about how I let my UI get as bad as it is in this video and honestly this happened over the course of several years as I often quit the game and come back months later. What I boiled it down to is I thought addons like classic numbers and Bajheera's threatplates looked cool. Gladiusex, gladiatorlossa, and bigdebuffs I downloaded and thought I could run with those things pretty much out of the box like you can with Gladius. It turns out that threatplates, gladiusex, and bigdebuffs at default settings do weird things when they all interact with each other (like having 8 blinds on my screen 😅or gladiatorlossa telling me every little detail like it all matters). Like you said, I thought having all these things would help my awareness and instead I end up subconsciously tunnel visioning onto my character's back to tone out all the bullshit on my screen and my awareness actually suffers.

I use gladiatorLOSA but if you want maximum, noncluttered value for it you have to go to the settings and trim it down. It's training wheels and its really for bad players like me but I can hear from a mile away if my teammate's getting blinded and Im getting vendetta'd because those are probably the biggest signals you need to use trinket / defensive.

I havnt played wow for a very long time, but i used to play rogue way back in original wrath. Im just curious, does cheap shot not exist anymore? Or is marked for death an ability used from stealth that breaks stealth? Back then we would open with cheap shot and THEN kidney shot.

It's more situational now for an assassination rogue from what I understand, the days of cheap shot and then kidney are pretty much gone. Especially at my rating if there is a situation to do cheap then kidney I'm sure as hell not good enough to recognize that situation. You'll see cheap shot used with subtlety rogues and certain outlaw rogue builds because they can press stealth abilities outside of stealth, but assassination rogues only have 1 vanish, no shadow dance, and you can't bet on getting a re-stealth from hiding behind a pillar very often, so assassination rogues primarily use kidney shot when it's off diminishing returns to set up a kill or to try to get defensive cooldowns used.

Interesting feedback on Plater M+ nameplates in arena. I don’t think the answer is to remove them, but just blacklist more from tracking. For duplicate party frames, the only add on that hid default party frames was shadow unit frames.

It’s redundant. If you’re tracking cds and have any ounce of awareness all it does is just add audio clutter. Builds terrible habits for new plays too because instead of actually paying attention to enemy debuffs/buffs they are relying on it to do it for them. Exact reason you won’t see any halfway decent player using the addon because if you’re playing the game properly you should already be seeing majority of the things it’s telling you.

To be honest, I got no high rank in pvp and my last time playing pvp was... 3 years ago I think. But even when Gladius screamed at me in various ways and overlapping the calls I still managed to understand it and more important, could benefit from it. Also, the call for the warri "Battle-Stance" would be helpful for me, or is there no difference with the def-stance?

Quality content as always my man. Have to disagree on one minor thing tho, having an addon track which buttons you (and maybe even the enemies) pressed has HUGE value if you, like this guy, record your games. I use wow recorder to record every match I play and it has helped me tremendously to improve my game, to watch these back and analyze what I did wrong or could've done differently. Obviously it should be somehwere in the corner for the screen where it doesn't distract you during the game itself.

At least that's how I understood it. You can customize what gladiatorlossa announces. If you don't have the awareness to track every large CD going out, which a majority of players don't; it's absolutely worth using and you're at a disadvantage if you aren't. Just customize what it announces.

My only question to "always open with Kidney" is what do you do if they instantly trinket? Sure, its the wrong move, but its one people make a lot at this rating especially in Shuffle. I guess Disarm, but at that point you have not quite setup your shit and can easily get caught in the middle of a global CD when they trinket and insta disarm. Like do you just forfeit that exchange since you won on trades and get out of there? Continue on with setups as much as you can? Pop something like evasion to try to weather their big CD?

I used to have a lovely little add-on many years ago when I was good at PvP that told me when certain spells were being cast and it would have a nice notification on the screen with the spell and target. I basically just used this and Gladius and I was golden. I wish I could remember what it was because it was the best kind of add-on, just super simple and effective. I think the most important thing is to make use of the information you put on screen, and a lot of add-ons are soooooo overloaded out of the box these days and they often have crossovers with the info they display. I think if I had to pare everything back I would probably just keep big debuffs and that's about it.... And my modified Gladius Ex. I spent about an hour simplifying it and making it look nice, so it only shows the bare minimum that I need to make decent decisions.

I'm probably missing something obvious here, but why open with MFD kidney shot? If you're in stealth wouldn't it be better to cheap shot first, then MFD kidney? If you do a non-stealth ability out of stealth you're kinda missing the benefit of the stealth, no?

the standard assa build ppl use utilizes talent that lets garrote keep it's stealth benefits (silence+more dmg) for 3 seconds after breaking stealth (it's also why going for multiple garrotes if the enemy team is stacked opener is strong). it also utilizes a talent that gives you 30 or so extra crit chance for a few seconds after breaking stealth so you want to pump in that window. cheap into mfd kidney is a wasted no dmg global in this short window. opening with mfd kidney usually puts the enemy team at a disadvantage, the target either has to waste their trinket immediately leaving them open for next go or their healer has to heal all that damage and/or use a def cd.
