They have the same interests that some of the politicians do, and Royal families usually own really Big business in their countries, therefore they are just huge businessmen but with public money. In Spain there has been many cases of corruption in the royal family. Even the old king had to leave the country a few years ago.

To a native speaker, they are very easily distinguished. And the aristocracy, including the Royals, do not speak RP (Received Pronunciation, or 'BBC English'), they pronounce 'house' as 'hyce' (same as 'mice') and 'off' as 'awf' (as in 'awful').
