Salaries are too low to cover all the needs of an adult.

Thanks to Trudeau, people in their 60s are moving in with parents in their 90s.

I didn’t have kids and I’m glad but, if I did I’d tell them to come home and we’ll pool our resources.

Bro exactly. Like literally this! It's about working as team and helping. If you love your parents and they love you then there's no age limit to moving out. My baby is due this month and I will let her live with me for as long as she wants. Rent free. Why? Because she is MY child.

I'm 39 and also don't pay rent. But I help with groceries, internet/cable and do lots of favors for both parents like errands and such.

Many living with their parents contribute by helping to pay a part of the mortgage/property taxes, house maintenance costs etc.

It's about taking responsibility. A lot of adults are serving their adult kids. Parents are the ones who fell for it to begin with. I'm a High School teacher and this has been a long time coming.

Why would anybody support their adult children?? I raised my children to be independent and to get a job and pay their bills and take care of themselves. There was NO WAY I was going to let them lie around and do nothing constructive at 17, 18 and 19 years old. No way!

Good for you. But have you ever considered not everyone is Lucky enough to be healthy and fuctioning.. there are people that struggle with mental and or physical issues and dissabilbities etc

@@bearclaire This a totally different situation. In many cases the the kids no not want to move out because its easier to mooch of your parents and the parents let them.

Parenting has changed. The younger generations have not been taught a work ethic. It's rare nowadays to even see a kid mowing a lawn.

if you have children, you're responsible for them until you die because you brought them into a messed-up world. 100% your fault.

One of the most absurd comments I’ve ever read. My kids will be raised to be independent at a young age, to get a job that pays the bills and to obtain a useful skill.

@@charles597 you can raise them hunky dory but unless they're millionaires in this feudal economy, they can't afford their own homes. Good luck.

I paid my student loan, had 2 rents crap jobs, didn't die, my parents didn't support me and became a stay at home mom, now at 63 I help them out a bit, why not, when weren't people better off when their parents helped them? It's about their standard of living and I like making loot bags/giving them a little cash, our needs are few our wants are many, we paid for their career educations, how is that good for you they're losers with loser spouses?

Just:1. dont use other siblings or relatives to funnel money from them. We all need our money; it impacts our lives, security and wellbeing, the future and retirement. 2. Dont take advantage of people. Cut back where you can and find income, doing extra hours etc. Have their partner/spouse take on a job, if they're not working. 3. Don't try to live a comfortable life, while taking money from those who are living frugal, frugal to afford their sustenance and have security for a rainy day, plus cover developments.

Kids have been pushed into getting useless degrees instead of legitimate useful occupations that pay the bills. Couple that with the permissive and weak parenting and it’s no surprise failure to launch is common.
