Lyoto is simply one of the smartest warriors there is . Never seen Machida ?? Hey, he was a former Light Heavyweight Champion! He simply outsmarted Chael!! Ha ha ha .. Too many attempts to justify a defeat.. Chael is all stength.. lacking in gray matter.. He never learned, and kept charging forward without any "feints" at all . His footwork was lousy and was awfully slow and there was an OBVIOUS lack of strategy.. Chael was overly predictable ! He needs to learn to be like Pacquiao and Machida- lots of planning, strategies and speed bro!! Knees and hands are the same .. They heal given time and proper nutrition.

Chael your world class fighter who fought the very best fighters in the world, not many can say that. Your vernacular as well as your style made you a star. You know that this sport is a young man's game, it causes severe head trauma long term, and your wits can be focused on other things just as rewarding. That said, we know, well some of us know fighting at that level and being a professional, that there is a mentality one has to have, a super ego if you will, and thats the hardest thing for fighters to let go. You can call it competitiveness, or anything you want, but essentially its all about yourself, its a very selfish mindset you must have to accel at this, and one reason why many keep going way too long. I think of you as being more intelligent than the rest of them, and know that you have made the right decision, and have many ideas of other things you want to do, maybe involving with UFC or mma in general, coaching, gyms, promotions or broadcasting. You would win at any of them, so in conclusion we enjoyed watching you fight inside the cage, now lets see what else you can be successful at outside of it. New chapter in the sonnen saga.
