Yes I love your first point about the 40 yard dash. When I first had my son run a 40, it was slower than molasses. He was also running alone, no gear on. He ran a 9.11 fastest speed on day one. After about a week of conditioning, he was more accustomed to it. So I put his little brother on the line with him, gave his little brother a head start, and told him to try and win across the line. His 40 went from a 9.11 with no gear to a 8.23 with full gear in less than a week. I am excited to see how much he will continue to progress, so far he’s really loving football. I think this may also be planting a seed for his younger brother as well

That’s great to hear! Making it competitive and being patient with his development is key!

@@cabtraining yes I am trying to come up with ways that will help with his confidence. There are some kids on his team that have been playing for a year or 2 already, so I don’t want him to feel discouraged early on. I tell him that as long as he gives his best efforts, I will always be proud - win, lose, or draw.
