I had to mount my Klipsch R51’s close to the ceiling and facing straight forward, they didn’t sound that great, but when I angled them down and towards the center listening position, they sound awesome!

Now should I be using all “angled “ in ceiling speaker with this ? 7.1.4 ? If so what are good angles speakers. I plan to build boxes behind the in ceilings.

Hello Mr. Youthman! I've watched a few of your videos and they are great and very informative. Thank you for that! I am very new at this audi technology. Just a quick question, I have a Pioneer Elite THX VSX-52TX receiver and wonder if there is a way that I can turn it into a 7.1.4 system since I want to add 4 ceiling speakers to my 10'x16'x9' small home theater room? And if yes, then how dobIbdo that? Thank you in advance!

soooo...my question regarding this is more about the in-ceiling atmos speakers. Assuming my room setup allows me to stick to Dolby specs perfectly (I'm doing 9.1.6), Would it benefit or hinder me to aim the tweeters of my in-ceiling atmos speakers toward my listening position?
@Iuglus5 жыл бұрын
Would you suggest a 5.1.4 over a 7.1.2?
@Youthman5 жыл бұрын
I personally would go with a 5.1.4. It’s hard to get an immersive Atmos effect with only two speakers

Can you compare all three streaming devices Nvidea Shied Tv Pro , Apple Tv 4K and Amazon 4k Cube which talks about Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support on each device apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime videos and Plex...
@Youthman5 жыл бұрын
Considering I do not have any of those devices, it might be a bit difficult to compare them. But thanks for the suggestion.
@bakoe76045 жыл бұрын
They are all nice and will likely sound and look 95% the same. Not having tested any other products the Apple TV 4K works very Well. Apple TV also has support for dolby vision and dolby atmos on Netflix and ITunes btw. Not one amazon prime tho

I have 4 Klipsch PRO-180RPC IN-CEILING SPEAKERs in my 7.1.4 set up. I've seen some videos explaining how poorly a straight down firing speaker sounds. Would I be better off building speaker boxes that angle these speaker at 45 degrees down toward the listening area? I want the best possible sound I can get with the system I purchased but have limited space, 18'x11' with two row seating. Any help would be appreciated.
@fooschnickens5 жыл бұрын
Can you hear a difference in sound quality as you move around your listening area? You'll be looking for a noticeable rolloff in the upper frequencies. Try swapping your atmos channels with your main L/R on your receiver/amp and play some music to make it easier to tell. Klipsch makes a few different models of over overhead speaker with an aimable tweeter assembly, I'd look into those if you feel like you're not getting the coverage you need.
@Sam_CL3505 жыл бұрын
@@fooschnickens Thanks for the input. I'm really wondering if I'm going to get a better sound by lowering 45 degrees off ceiling aiming the speakers toward listening area. I bought a Klipsch package system and am happy with it, just wanting to get the best sound out of it. Not really able to swap speakers at this time. It's not so much the coverage... I can hear them and have increased a couple of decibels to account for the imperfect setup with two row seating, but the demonstration I watched with in ceiling speakers showed the cone of peak performance directed directly at the floor. To me, this seems inefficient and I should get better results by remounting in the above configuration. As I am new to all of this, I just wanted feedback from Youthman and his crew on this idea. Or anyone who has tried this out. Thanks again, Sam

If you want to use all 3 3D sound formats at the same time, you could check out ... www.hifi-forum.de/viewthread-36-17329.html (english version) It's about speaker placements to use Atmos, DTS-X/Neural-X and Auro (3D) at the same time ...

You said "typically you're not going to need to angle those"... than you show the Dolby reference for your 7.1.4 system and in the picture they show them angled and what degrees are recommended. I get that you don't and why. Just thought that was kinda funny.
@AllanNeely5 жыл бұрын
I was waiting for him to pull up the site just to see his reaction because I knew what Dolby recommended for surround speakers! 🤣🤣🤣
@Youthman5 жыл бұрын
It’s funny that I have been to that page many times and I’ve always pictured the side surrounds at 90 degrees because that’s how I have it in my setup. 😀 It also depends on whether or not you have more than one row of seating. If you install the side surrounds at 110 degrees and angle them towards the front row, the rear row will not receive side surround coverage which would not be ideal.
@AllanNeely5 жыл бұрын
@@Youthman what about the rear surrounds? I personally bought mounts that can be swiveled and tilted. I have the rears pointed directly at my main listening position just like the other speakers.
@BigART17915 жыл бұрын
@@AllanNeely There's nothing wrong with pointing them at your listening position, much like you'd toe in the front L + R you can toe in your rear surrounds. My front L+R and rear L+R are toe'd in to point at the listening position. Worse case is you don't like the way it sounds and you point them straight again or find some other angle that suits you.
