I put the preview and final url as my personalized amazon affiliate link. I do not have my own website. Hi. Very helpful to an AdWord newbie. If I set up separate AdWords campaigns, can I attach them to play with separate specific videos? I have two unrelated clients I am making videos (interviews) for to appear on same KZbin channel. Coincidentally, both are interested in having ads made on their own products to run in front of their interview videos. So far I have avoided AdWords and cannot easily find out if I can control it in such a specific way. Any hints would be so welcome.

Great tutorial. Straight forward, well explained and no click baiting. I think your video cleared up some confusion for me in that even if you choose In-Display/Discovery (not In-Stream) your AD could still run as a pre-role. This would explain why my last video showed traffic source with YT Advertising at 86% and then when I looked at gender it was %86 male with an average view duration of .28 secs. and %16 female which came from my own blog, social media and YT engagement.

I am just curious will this get me into trouble with the AdSense by advertising my video and then get paid for it later. Thank you for the kind words! You can promote your monetized videos but you only receive ad revenue for organic video views. For example, if I pay for 1,000 views then 0 of those views include ads. Any additional organic views from people who found the video on my channel, through suggested videos, or through search can be monetized. It's a good long-term strategy if you want to continue to build your channel. The best strategy for gaining viewers on your existing videos is optimizing Video Titles, Video Tags, Video Descriptions, and sharing videos to your social channels.

If you're trying to get to the initial page just Google "Adwords" and it should be the first thing. Just click it and sign in from the top right hand corner and it should bring you there.

Yes, you set a bid per view like $0.10/view for the audience you are targeting, so if you had a $10 budget it would deliver at least 100+ video views to your audience.

I have a second part to my question. In the example above for the Trueview Video Discovery Ads you show a screen shot with a Video below the "Up Next" right hand column which has the yellow "AD" button. However, I NEVER see this when I am on You Tube. I tried an experiment and I literally clicked on about 30 videos of both You-Tubers that I follow and those who I do not follow and I tried it while being logged in to my account and on another browser while not being logged in to my account and I also tried it doing an organic search, I NEVER had a video on the up-next column have the AD button on it. So if I never see this, then that leads me to believe other--and by other I mean all other You Yube viewers are also NOT seeing videos with the AD button in the up-next column. Sooooooo if no one is seeing these Trueview Video Discovery Ads where are they going? And why would someone pay for an AD no one sees?????

I see the Video Discovery Ad under the Up Next section on most marketing/business related videos on KZbin. Are you using Ad Blocker? If not, you should see these Ads. I just opened up my Google AdWords Tutorial video and there's an Ad in that spot. Advertisers are only charged when someone sees the Video Discovery Ad and clicks on it to watch the video ad so people are seeing them.

When the campaign is added, your video advertisement will be 'Under Review' for 12-24 hours usually. Once approved, the campaign will start running.

Shorter videos are less likely to be skippable ads, so if you upload 15 second ads, KZbin will play them more often as Auto-Play ads that people can't skip. When your ads become longer like 30 seconds or more, KZbin is going to show them as skippable ads.

Yes, you can try adding more channels or increasing your cost/view to get more out of your campaign. In this scenario, I usually try to add more channels and popular KZbin videos for several days and then increase cost/view if you aren't seeing activity.

What you can do is set-up your Billing method and then create & pause your first campaign. Don't worry about how your first campaign is set-up or anything, you can pause it right away and not worry about spending anything. That will bring you to the main screen where the video starts.

The review process can sometimes take 24-48 hours. If it's been 48 hours and you haven't received any updates, you can contact and chat with Google and they should be able to review it quicker. The first ever KZbin campaign you run will have the longest approval process.
