Yes, if it's a significant update. However, if they haven't added a 'Sample Track' like in Cubase, or if Impact XT doesn't have the option to pitch drums using the MIDI keyboard, then this update doesn't seem necessary. Nevertheless, I'll wait for your S1 7 video with hope for the best.

I have been using Studio one since 2012. I thought I knew what I needed to know till I came across your channel. IVAN! You took my beats to a new level, and I was able to sell Lots of beats because of the tricks you tought, from the Sidechaining, to things as small as the Macros and short cuts. My Channel is Growing, and no one explains this DAW like you. Thanks Bro, and I, and everyone else who's reading this will always support a great trainer like yourself!🔥🔥💯💯

Bro I have watched your videos before but yesterday I binge watched your channel since I’ve been learning studio one as well as downloading your productivity toolbar and I just want to say thank you. I’ve managed to learn a lot from you in just a few hours. You are a great talent and i truly appreciate everything you have done.

Ivan...this is great to hear, and as always...wisdom beyond your years. I've learned a ton from you from your 1st YT vid in 17. I've been producing video content and teaching for 20+ years, and from day one I appreciated, especially in your early years, the effort you put in, your personal style (and your focus on macros. :) I think your mentor idea is great and I'm sure you will do well with it. As for FenderSonus.....After starting with S1 in 2009, I've been a big S1 fanboy. However, I've been disappointed in their direction and lost a lot of interest. While top shelf, their focus on mixing and engineering fell flat on me and until this video, I was not very interested in what they were doing. However, while I am really enjoying learning the Ableton and Way, it is hard to throw years of S1 love and knowledge out the window. Your confidence/interest in their current direction gives me hope and you are a great voice for us producers. They should really hire you to describe all their convoluted pricing/tiers/offerings/versions/ect. :) Thank you! BTW... When I do fire up S1 these days, I still use your Beatmaker's Toolbar. Good luck and thanks for sharing your journey.

You said.. For producers... And A LOT of features :) I just wonder what does it mean to you? . For me it means that we should get more tools like NOTE FXs, more options in Piano roll ( add propabilty to piano roll) more options in pattern editor, LFO tool ( modulators ) to be able to connect different parameters to it, better sampling/slicening In sample one, simple and quick randomisation tools ... Etc. There is a lot small things that can be improved to make a production better, faster, more fun. If the leak is real.. Clips and splice integration it's more like a lazy workflow and speeding more time on browsing and looking for loops than real production and making music from scratch... So 2mrw we will see who is the target for Studio one and what for Producer means :)

Good to see you back on here Ivan. i like you will only pay the annual upgrade if I see value. That's not lots of sample packs, new VST's even, or effects when there is a ton of amazing ones available out there already if you need. Fill gaps by all means but the investment needs to be on the DAW itself (especially stability and MIDI) introducing lots of things that other DAWs have had years ago. SO could easily be the best Windows DAW out there but not sure if its the way they coded the original design, but some of these little improvements for some reason seem hard and expensive to do thus never get added. So I wish SO well and hope if this new annual subsciption boosts revenue, it's spent in the right areas that long time users can really appreciate. Look forward to your review post launch.

Thank you for sharing your personal stuff and then your thoughts on Studio One 7. Did you ask if there is going to be some collaboration between Fender and S1 folks to give us better options for guitar recordings through S1? The design of the new audio interfaces, for recording guitars, had some collaboration I believe. It would be great to see that on the software side too.

My big issue with this stems from corporate distrust. Say I upgrade to Studio One 7, and some time before the 12 month period, they release a bad update that kind of forces me to pay for a new upgrade. That would suck lol

I also don't think there's much to add in the near future other than introducing AI capabilities at some point, which I wouldn't use anyway lol

Yo Ivan, What up Bro. I hope you advocated for Impact to function like Logics DMD.
@sevenfifteenАй бұрын
Thanks for your thoughts! I see some logic holes though. The subscription for example, contains plugins that are not part of Studio One Pro. But when you stop the subscription, those plugins stop working as well. That's defintely a negative. The "well, just don't pay" argument falls short, when you already paid and then get nothing of worth from the updates you paid for. And they won'T announce new features, plugins or enhancements in UE a year in advance, so that you can decide wether it's worth it or not. You see what I mean now already. They announce v7, but say NOTHING about content, features, etc. The want you to update/buy blindly. And finally there's the smell that I don't like, by doing all these changes, that benefit them, but saying "we did what you wanted". The majority did not want this new pricing model, so that's simply a lie. I'm losing trust in the company.
@jeromeweaver809Ай бұрын
I agree with your thoughts about KZbin as a creator; that is why I have not started as a creator. I also agree with the pay system of Studio One 7 Pro.
@fearfighteryosoyАй бұрын
Ok so, now I finished the video, and I appreciate all of that info about the corporate side of it. for real. I been a little sad with the way things were looking and I have really grown with Studio One over the years since version 3. It’s weird, It just feels like home for my brain. Like a well- balanced -easy -to use -modular ecosystem with pretty consistent value. Just praying that hardware integration and updates keep things running for a long time. It would be cool for it to be the standard for the whole process. I don’t want to learn a new Daw. Luna looks cool, but, eh. IDK
@philz7227Ай бұрын
Thanks Ivan for keeping it real. Your presentations are always worth the visit and you've taught me lot. I hope your new path is successful. I subscribe to the Pro plus plan with Studio One so I get all the latest, but I'm not a fan of the latest gizmo or auto-whatever. I don't need constant change as an incentive. And I don't need someone changing the tools I rely on because some corporate bean counter is trying to meet a quarterly financial goal. Seven new product drops in a year just means more time trying to manage change. I want to make music and not get lost in file management. I love the program but fear what the Fender takeover will do to a great product.

Sounds 2 me like u don't like updates & improvements.
@philz7227Ай бұрын
@@jamestyler8549 Not at all. But updates and improvements in the digital world often come with bugs and freezes that get in the way of making music. I've had computers become maddeningly slow because all the updates and improvements used up the available storage. The rule of updates seems to be that once I have a system working well, it gets updated and I have to start over.

My admiration for as an artist and musician aside, I'd like to say that once you look into how tough other 40-60 hour per week jobs in other fields are, it'll give you a different perspective on your work as a content creator. Not to diminish your efforts but it'll help you understand you don't have it that bad and that'll help you avoid burnout and enjoy the process more.

I currently use Logic. I have now also tested Ableton. Ableton is really minimal as far as the settings are concerned. This gives you a good focus for creating beats. I think the arrangement in Studio one is really cool. In Logic, as in Ableton, it's not as easy as with the arranger track in studio one. I really miss this function in Logic. Otherwise it would be perfect for me. There are pros and cons to Studio one for me. Pro: Arrangement possible very quickly. Intuitive thanks to drag drop. Cons: This impact XT kind of annoys me. Logic automatically turns each pad into its own track. Impact somehow only creates one track. I can then no longer edit these individually. You have to do a lot of routing first. I hope it will be solved with 7.

Best part about the sampler is the ability to record directly into it. Makes it easy to create you own samples, or turning a mono synth sound to poly. Pretty dope.

my biggest question from the get go following the acquisition of Presonus by Fender, has been, when are we going to see some 'kick' from the fender side of things into studio one. so one day out from the release with teasers here n' there still nothing about 'the guitar side of things' into studio one, ergo that would be my question to management of Presonus. as i recall i wrote Presonus at the time of the takeover with this in mind. there was no clear answer. one thing that has annoyed me over the last year and a bit is the 'ease' with which the name for membership of studio one plus has been thrown around as if a crouton in a salad. it all adds up to 'flaky and insecure'. it's a cool enough platform (subscription model) but it'd be meaningful if they 'got the name right and ran with it'
