You idiot. You absolute IDIOT. Ever heard of Mindfield with Vsauce? That show is a piece of art. Your content blows, anyone with a brain cell can see mine is much better.
@jondoh94146 жыл бұрын
Vsauce is a garbage reality tv that doesn't have an ounce of integrity and is made for braindead chipmunks. Their test for the damage of solitary confinement was literally the host being stuck in a room for a while as the parents get close ups of crying and grieving over the difficulty their poor son is having. It was hammed up garbage, the trolley test was even worse and completely worthless for learning anything.

I'd have to respectfully disagree Jon Doh
@jondoh94146 жыл бұрын
I note your disagreement and double down on saying Vsauce is hot garbage that's bound to make people dumber. It doesn't have even a tangential relation to science, maybe it's entertaining but as for learning something from it, you might as well watch the Kardashians.
@shauntheproducer36056 жыл бұрын
I see your double down and I call. No tangential relation to science at all? Even the isolation episode you mention, I find it improbable to not learn a single thing about the science behind it that one could go research about on their own. Come on even you can't believe that you'll learn more from watching the Kardashians. I felt the lack of conviction as you typed that.

Cobra Kai is great because no "KZbinrs" appeared in it. Just imagine how shit this show would've been if either of the Paul brothers played Robbie, or if Lia Marie Johnson played Sam. Cobra Kai is great for that reason alone. It's a show starring actors, not KZbinrs. Hell, it says a lot when Ralph Macchio is a better actor than all KZbinrs. I just wished that the show also has another form of conflict: MMA. I want to see how Johnny and even Danny would try and recruit people in the age of UFC, especially when neither Miyagi-Do nor Cobra Kai teaches ground control, which led to the rise of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and the death of traditional martial arts like Karate in the USA.

I think there's something Lost in Translation. Usually, I have to explain British humor to my fellow Americans but it's apparent you absolutely missed the satire, the dark humor, and them absolutely making fun of themselves in this series. The show isn't for everyone. By the way, the reason why it was such a success on KZbin Red is because this is the first show on KZbin Red they didn't cast all of their in-house KZbin bloggers in this show.

theylied1776 I am sorry I have heard the whole explain British Humour to American audience, but I do no understand what is to explain. I mean British humour can be intelligent, but not to the point that the average person cannot understand it unless there are unique jokes to the country (ex: North-South Divide jokes), and even those can be understood if you do a little bit of googling.

Explaining British humor = "You don't understand, it's just British."
@OceanNoodles_6 жыл бұрын
Mat There are different styles of humour and the one you seem to be mentioning in your first paragraph is general slapstick. Doctor Who isn't primarily a comedy which is what theylied1776 was talking about. If you want some good, intelligent British humour, look up some sketches from The Two Ronnies ('Mastermind' and 'Four Candles' are fairly iconic) or A Bit of Fry & Laurie (I'm a big fan of 'The Understanding Barman') to start with - If you want something more recent though, I like That Mitchell and Webb Look but I can understand that they're not for everyone. I understand that plenty of British shows are very over the top but if you look around you can find that there are some genuinely intelligent and funny shows produced here. As I said though, they're not for everyone so have a look at my recommendations but if you don't like them then maybe they're just not for you.

I don't know why, people still look at rotten tomatoes, it's so broken and how the percentage thing works is so awful(ex: if everyone gives a movie a 6/10, the movie will be 100%.)
@robotzombienazy6 жыл бұрын
Reptilian Lizard pro tip: only look at the audience rating since they had to choose between if they liked or disliked it, not some arbitrary score that's then translated into good/bad. Also a good idea in general to ignore critics since they're tossers.
@bozotheclown6666 жыл бұрын
robotzombienazy 1.audience is just as bad, audiences basically accept everything and give it a positive score, I don't use rotten tomatoes at all. 2. Why ignore critics, most of the time they somewhat know what there talking about, yeah I'll admit there are some critics who aren't that intelligent or aren't that good(aarmon white is the most famous one) but you also some good critics out there(ralphthemoviemaker, yms, Chris stuckman, ihe, etc.) and those are only KZbin movie critics.
@robotzombienazy6 жыл бұрын
Reptilian Lizard i don't say only look at the audience scores so you can find out what's good, i say it so you find out what's watchable. It's a rare sight to see an actually bad movie with a positive score on Rotten Tomatoes, though that does not mean that it will be enjoyable to you. Though when a movie has got 90+ positives it's usually a pretty good film that you'll probably enjoy, there probably are some exceptions though. Of course there are good critics but in aggregate they are no better than the layman but with the added snobbery that comes with being a critic, they give high/low scores to whatever they think they they are supposed to since they have little actual critical thinking going on. The good critics are worth looking at but sites like RT make no preference and so the majority of the critics votes are made by the sheep and not the wolves.
@bozotheclown6666 жыл бұрын
robotzombienazy I see where your coming from with audiences, I don't really look at rotten tomatoes or any movie website like that, I'll find a movie critic on youtube that I trust enough and watch their review. I agree, most critics are sheepish or look give a positive rating because of the political message.

It was shot in Mexico, for many scenes they didn't get any permit and shot it anyhow.... How do you think the first Jacki Chan movies got made? No permits in many car stunts. Chan said it.

@Mechadude326 жыл бұрын
TheDragonCat99 Conversely it could just be that shows don't really take up political themes as blatant as this.
@TheDragonCat996 жыл бұрын
Anstign I suppose, but I find that incredibly unlikely since pretty much every show I’ve seen from the past decade has had pretty blatant political messages.
@CrazyJC56 жыл бұрын
I think what's nuts with this show is even though they show a political side to it, they really do show the pros and cons with it. It's really not one sided on anything. Hell, reason I like the show so much is stuff that all seem black and white constantly becomes grey areas once you understand the context between certain stance. I feel like the show itself uses politics more so to push a message of it's theme of confidence and such. Which is, yah know, the best ways to use those kind of ideals. Who could of guessed it came from a fucking karate kid revival.
@Mechadude326 жыл бұрын
TheDragonCat99 Define "political." you could argue that any theme is "political" in nature if you really wanted to. But that's overly reductive. This show, it seems, comes out and doesn't really hide it. The show itself doesn't seem to lean one way or the other if the arcs here are in the show. Rather, it seems to go for a grayer "both sides are wrong" type of message. Which is condescending in its own way.
@TheDragonCat996 жыл бұрын
+Anstign I'm going by NitPix's definition. I'm just applying the criteria he did for this show to other shows I've watched. They're basically the same thing, but for the other side of the spectrum. And yeah, I agree. I never said that the show was right-wing entirely. I'm using "right-wing" as a relative term here.
@Argonnosi6 жыл бұрын
I love Cobra Kai, but, taking a step back, it is really a 7/10 (solidly entertaining, worth watching again, has good execution on big ideas, but very unpolished). However, I will say that there's no way that this should have ever been even close to that good. A sequel series that was probably picked up as a cash grab by youtube, it's obvious the creators cared a lot about it, and it shows. Amongst a myriad of remakes and nostalgia grabs all just lazily grasping for your money, this one manages to actually stand on its own right. Second, the unpolished nature makes some moments backfire, but it is always utterly sincere, and you get that. It's not just trying to be too cool for school. It sincerely wants these moments of 80's dialogue and emotiveness to work. And, honestly, I have to give it props for that.

You miss the most important thing about this show - it is an absolute love song to the original source material, both embracing it and taking it further than it originally went, while also poking fun at the right places. It hits squarely in the nostalgia, unapologetically, and still manages to respect the old glory while putting it in a modern perspective. Had it taken away from the feelings that most of us have for the original film, it wouldn't have worked, but they paid homage to the best memories we have of it, and somehow pulled off weaving it into a new story that is interesting and compelling on its own. I can see people who are unfamiliar with the films enjoying this series anyway, but the effectiveness of the easter eggs left for the people who are familiar with the original takes the appreciation to a whole new level of awesome. It is an amazing accomplishment that they pulled it off when it could have gone spectacularly wrong. It is, quite simply, brilliant. I used my trial for red just for this series, and may end up paying for season two out of pocket because it was that good. I started with the free eps and was immediately hooked, and by episode four was in for the binge watching of the whole season immediately. And as soon as I finished it, I went looking for someone else to rewatch it with, preferably someone who knew the first film as well as I did. Btw - the reason they went with Red instead of Hulu or Netflix is because KZbin gave them COMPLETE CREATIVE FREEDOM over the production/writing/EVERYTHING up front, no strings attached, even before they had a script. They had the ability to make the show they wanted to make with ZERO oversight (read:interference) from studios or execs who don't know f*ckall about the reasons something is loved in the first place (I'm looking at YOU DC/WB). Apparently, Red must have been pretty desperate to get ANYTHING that would put them on the map, and knowing the following the Karate Kid films already had, they were willing to pay any price necessary to get hold of something with that kind of draw. Well done, Red. It paid off hugely.

Apparently, the other producers were kinda wishy washy, were making suggestions and negotiating offers. This Karate Kid sequel is better than Jaden Smith and isn't another hollywood remake, but a real sequel, something lacking in hollywood. For all its minor flaws, its brilliant and brings me back to my childhood, a true sequel. Oh no, i think this niptuckpix or what ever hes called is trolling us?!

Wow! I mean, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but the creator of this video is really shitting all over Cobra Kai. He is basically saying that, even though this show is absolute shit, you should still watch it because there are enough accidental moments of good storytelling as to make it worth your while...so you should give it a chance. MY opinion is that this is one of the best shows I have seen on TV in the past year. The producers of Star Wars should be taking notes from these guys. Sure, the sets are cheap and the callbacks ALMOST become overbearing...but, the amount of heart, funny dialogue, and social commentary more than make up for it. In addition, I think that the performances are great and the teenagers are actually realistic. Most of the drama in the show come from teenagers making stupid-ass decisions...like in real life. And Daniel's wife actually comments on how ridiculous and juvenile this whole rivalry is. If you are a fan of the original Karate Kid, watch this show.

I feel that your reaction to this review sort of sums up why people shouldn't say things are over rated. They'll point out only the flaws and not give a rounded assessment to try to pull people over to their side, then when someone says it's awful they'll turn right around and start only talking about the good aspects. This review being as dominated up front by criticisms is NitPix trying to make his atypical stance on the show more credible, it's not to present his opinion with actual accuracy. He said he liked it, but was disapproving that others liked it more than he thought they should.

@69johndz6 жыл бұрын
Not really. Watch the video again. He basically says he loves the show despite the fact that everything about it is shitty and what makes the show watchable is good character development. That is its only saving grace. Towards the end of the video, he literally says, "If you don't take Cobra Kai too seriously, you're going to find a great deal of entertainment in the failings of it."
