Hey Nico! Did you read the book "Hooked" from Nir Eyal? It lets me think of your wonderfull software morning fame. The gamification of growing KZbin is adictive! Do you think about including social interaction between software users?

Thanks again for sharing the very helpful information with us.
@Morningfame3 жыл бұрын
@@sanpls Can you see where these views are coming from? KZbin Studio (desktop) -> Open the analytics for the video -> Advanced Mode at the top right -> Traffic Sources at the top -> The table at the bottom gives you the details. If it shows “Shorts” as the traffic sources then such view boosts are no surprise. The Shorts algorithm behaves weirdly this way. It sends large amounts of views in bursts. And then your views just didn’t grow further (that would be normal) or did your total view count for the video drop to a lower number?
@sanpls3 жыл бұрын
@@Morningfame First of all, I am really grateful for answering me. It is really nice of you. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 Nico, Yes, you are correct, it shows “Shorts” as the traffic sources. My video total view count didn't drops to a lower number. It didn’t grow any further like previously. Thank you so much again.
@Morningfame3 жыл бұрын
@@sanpls Absolutely my pleasure! :) Alright, awesome! Yes, that is normal behavior. The Shorts algorithm tends to bring many views on random days and nothing much on others. The fact that you get these boosts is a really good sign. Just keep creating Shorts that excite viewers. The trick really is to create something that people will enjoy and that ties back to something popular. Peachtober seems to be such a thing. :)

Are UTMs required, Also, will I be able to see the exact website name(traffic source) in the youtube analytics or it will be counted under external traffic source?
@Morningfame3 жыл бұрын
Great question PG! Yes, UTMs are required for that. Namely, add . For my links I use “?A%2F%2Fmorningfa.me” The special characters are uri encoded. But if you don’t use special characters then don’t worry about encoding anything. What you set as the will then appear under “External”. So in the analytics you need to click on “External” and then a list of individual sources will appear where one will be what you set as . Fyi, the other available UTMs are not used. Only . Hi bro.. I belive that suggested videos are not the 3rd more important but the kost important. With my new strategy i increase from 6-7% to 10% in suggested.. Thats the only way that you realky grow out of your normal niche (that for me is essencial because is a very small niche but that grows 200% a year).. Beside that essencial making a retention above 4minutes and 50% minimum view, and ctr 10%..

You probably have heard many people talking about “optimizing their tags”. This is part of KZbin SEO. Overall it is the way how we prepare our videos to rank in KZbin Search. Here is a video that goes deeper into explaining just that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eqXJq6VnoLOneLc I hope this helps! :)

@Morningfame Жыл бұрын
This is indeed weird. If you edit and watch your own videos from the Creator Studio then you of course can create a few views but certainly not 5k views. Most likely most of these views come from the Shorts algorithm. But since your analytics don’t say that I can only guess that this is a glitch...

@Morningfame3 жыл бұрын
The more impressions the better. Like views we always want and get more the more our channel grows. In regards to CTR I recommend that you don’t focus on that number at the moment. Your channel is still very small and the CTR just isn’t useful at this point. Keep focussing on the various growth strategies that I teach on my channel and are of course taught on many other channels as well. See ya, Nico

@@Morningfame Thanks so much for the helpful reply. I was confused because I saw both my videos and videos by others, so if I see a lot of my videos it is good because YT is recommending my videos to people who watched my videos. It may be random, but in July I decided to try different things to improve my videos and channel and have seen a slight decrease in views and subscribers but an increase in revenue and RPM. I appreciate your clear videos on understanding KZbin and am a very happy subscriber. Thumbs up.

@RobbsHomemadeLife4 жыл бұрын
@@Morningfame I saw I had some views coming from a couple of links I left on Pinterest 2 years ago so I added a bunch of photos from my videos to Pinterest with links. Oddly, I then saw my views from Pinterest go down. I then bought a program to help me make better thumbnails and I changed the thumbnails for the top 30 of my best videos. I then immediately saw a huge decrease from external links which I never understood but they came back up in a week to two. Then I began to focus on better photos for thumbnails and better titles and also started to try and find video subjects that would both appeal to me and to as wide an audience as possible. Then, since my channel is eclectic and covers too many areas to be sucessful, in order to give the viewers at least some idea of what my channel is about, I now do food videos only on Friday, review videos only on Sunday, and wild card videos which can be about anything on Wednesday. My review videos are the most watched. Food videos are the least weatched but provide me a lot of fun. KZbin has demonetized some of the subjects I was doing like BB guns and firearms so some of my most watched subjects I no longer do much as I worry about KZbin killing my efforts. I also have tried to figure out how to increase the value of my videos to my viewers as i think since I am not a celebrity or have a team or company the only way for me to compete is to try and provide as much value as I can. This is harder than it sounds but increasing value for viewers is probably the best thing I can focus on. Finally, I identified a few channels that are popular but eclectic and diverse like mine , such as the channel Atomic Shrimp, and have tried to see why they may have more success and use them as a model in ways that would agree with me. I started getting serious in July. My views and subscribers are down around 5% which might be seasonal, but my RPM has gone up a lot and I have seen a steady but modest increase in revenue.

That’s when someone pays for views. Sometimes it actually happens that marketers accidentally buy views for the wrong video. No worries btw. These are views from official ad placements on KZbin. Not these bought views from dubious sources in case you wonder.

Thanks for letting me know Amy! I just double checked the cards and they are actually there. But I heard that KZbin is sometimes acting up and doesn’t show them. That must have been what has happened. Traffic sources are a fancy way of saying “WHERE your views come from”. Do your viewers search videos, find yours and watch it? Do they see a tweet with your video and watch it because of that? And so on...

@Morningfame4 жыл бұрын
Great question Jan! This is very rare to happen and a really big sign that you do a lot right! Like you imply, notifications usually mostly go out to our subscribers. But sometimes a video is very successful and if it also has broad appeal then the notifications algorithm will push it to even more people e.g. via a “Recommended for you” push notification on the phone. You have probably seen these notifications from time to time as well about one of the videos from a channel that you sometimes watch. Do you think this explains what happened for your video in particular?
