Just to clarify some things: We don't actually know exactly how much money Verbalase spent on the animation. The animation was meant to be on a new channel he was planning on making where there was going to be more adult content, but he gave up on the idea and deleted the channel and video. The animation was made 3 years ago, and only now was it reuploaded on Verbalase's birthday. Verbalase did not go bankrupt from this. He has made a lot of money from his cartoon beatbox battles and is not going broke any time soon as far as I know. I will edit this comment if I got something wrong, just remember not to trust EVERYTHING you hear on the internet.

Those are indeed his claims, maybe evidence to the contrary would arise but as far as i know he showed the dates in his apology while the evidence for it being a personal video is absolute zero and literally just speculation that's wide spread. He didn't state it wasn't 50k and that doesn't seem absurd considering his other animated works are apparently in that ball park, if it was significantly less that would actually be surprising because his animations in general seem quite expensive, i see no reason for this one to not be the same. It's sort of irrelevant given the context that it was for youtube, that point only really matters if it were bankrupting him and it was a personal video, neither of which have evidence of being true.

@@AirConditioner402 no, watch the video again if you like He was contemplating releasing the video, and as we know he indeed did release it as that's how it was leaked at all because someone had seen it when it went up. He says specifically that he's uploaded it to youtube but it's private and he wasn't sure what peoples reaction would be and wasn't certain of posting it. This makes it very clear he had intentions of posting it and that's why it was made, but he wasn't entirely certain when push came to shove. You can see in the emails how excited he was by the project and for it to be made, he only really shows any hesitation after it's done and ready to go public. If you still think it was just a private video for himself, ask yourself, why would he upload it to youtube at all even privated? Why would he of all things unprivate it on that channel and make it public? It makes no sense for it to simply be a private video for himself, even those emails confirm as much and this lines up with his apology video explanation just fine.

True, everyone goes through times when they're ignorant and mess-up (and some of us come to regret the mistakes we used to make in the past). I remember when I was a teenager, was new to art/drawing, and had uploaded some tracings of other people's artwork while not fully aware of what copyright issues were yet (this was a couple decades ago, back in ye olde DeviantArt times). I've long since taken down those tracings and regretted my choices, but now I don't post little-to-any artwork out of fear that (even if I take responsibility for what I've done as a dumb teenager), it'd still come to bite me in the ass and kill my art career before it takes off (and I also don't post artwork for other anxious reasons too). People can sometimes make mistakes, but unfortunately some mistakes are really big ones that are hard to make up for and the Internet/social media isn't often a forgiving place (Twitter may be infamous for it, but it's unfortunately not the only one)... 0_0

Yes! It's definitely a great watch imo, and an amazing feat as it's one of the few indie-animations to make it big and get accepted by a streaming service (which Vivzie and co deserve props for)! ^^ It has it's flaws with the pacing and it might not be everyone's cup of tea (but that can be said for almost any movie/show), but it was still an awesome experience to me and worth the watch/support!

It comes from "g*psy," a common slur for Romani people. I wish more allies talked about and educated those who are ignorant of queer and especially trans issues. I've spent a decade having to constantly justify my existence and my right to live as a transgender person to people. I've met a lot of people who were willing to learn and grow but lately its been so difficult because people who I thought were supportive or at least neutral have been sucked into this hate fueled machine. My own grandpa thinks I shouldn't exist when he used to be fine, all because Fox News has rotted his brain out. It's just--so exhausting feeling like you have to fight your way through life when you just wish people could move on. I am in the process of fleeing the only state I have ever lived in because they want to make my existence and medicine illegal. Adding on top of it teaching people how to be better humans... it really is hard at times to be willing and empathetic to people who are there saying really hateful and hurtful things that are letting our rights as humans dissolve all because they want to believe the worst in us. I work with kids every day and I have only talked about sexuality with a teenagers who approached me without knowing I am queer but needing support from a safe adult since at home wasn't. Part of my job has been fighting to get kids out of abusive homes while the people calling us groomers are destroying the avenues that help kids get out of bad situations (a lot of red states have been silently destroying CPS and making CPS as useless as people are told it is because so much abuse happens in really conservative communities and the politicians are trying to protect their voter base that doesn't believe child abuse exists unless it's gay or trans people). I appreciate you not being afraid to challenge hateful and ignorant narratives and be a step in educating people and encouraging them to do better. When allies handle those initial barriers to understanding for us, when they reach actual queer people we aren't burdened with trying to justify our right to live without violence and can actually focus on providing a more rounded education. At the end of the day all I want is to be able to live without fear of being harmed because someone hates me based on something I cannot control. I want to enjoy life and find a life partner to settle down with somewhere nice with plenty of fun things to do. I'm not a "sexual deviant", I have had one sexual encounter since I turned 18 and it was with another trans person and pretty vanilla. I'm a regular ass person, my experiences and the lens I live my life through are a bit different but most of that difference is caused by how I have been treated and not my identity itself. Anyway, thank you again for pointing out ignorance and being willing to say something. I watched this video after a really rough day of wondering if I'll ever get to have the quiet life I want and seeing people who aren't directly effected by the violence and hatred we face every day being able to recognize it and challenge it helps me keep going. I hope even just one person will see this and consider actually learning about trans people and our lived experiences. It would make my heart happy to see things move in a positive direction even by an inch.

i had a brief experience meeting verbalase in an elevator at winter NAMM 2020 (a convention for musical manufacturers and music professionals). he performed at one of the outdoor stages at NAMM wearing a ridiculous red outfit with mirrors on it all. he was clearly talented, but the performance was rather cringe. later in the day or maybe the next day i went into the elevator at the convention center and the elevator stopped at the floor before the one i was getting off at. verbalase walked into the elevator with some friends of his or his management and i blurted out “are you the beatboxing guy?”. verbalase’s eyes lit up and he said “y-y-y-yes I am!” and did beatboxing sound effects. i tried to hold in my laughter, but i laughed right in his face. i felt so guilty because i saw his heart break as i laughed. i had no idea who he was at the time, but found out after my friend showed me the thanos beatboxing meme and the tetris meme. still felt bad for a while afterwards, but now i feel so good about it knowing that i (a transwoman) humiliated verbalase in front of his friends or management or whoever he was with.

I love Hazbin Hotel and I like Charlie Morningstar and Hazbin Hotel is my newest favorite cartoon too. I'm also a big fan of Charlie x Vaggie and Charlie's name makes me think of Charlie Barkin from All Dogs Go To Heaven.

Hey, I wonder if you would consider removing the term "gypped" from your vocabulary. A lot of people don't realize this, but it comes from the word "gypsy", which is a slur against Roma people. Also yea I was really surprised when I saw and started hearing about what Verbalase had did on KZbin a few days before the first four episodes of Hazbin Hotel came out but I don't think that makes him a scumbag or a gross guy or anything awful like that. Just someone with different taste and should have probably held that taste back(if possible) and hid it better and kept it in the that area for those times.

What? That was a very sincere video, none of the crying youtuber apology bullshit, he came on and explained 2 situations he was being criticised for, apologised for hurting people and gave a detailed explanation of why the animation was made at all. That is a far better apology video than 99% of the bullshit that other people who do much worse make, and he wasn't apologising for the animation, he made it clear there was nothing to apologise for and that the video was for a new adult based channel which he simply changed his mind on and ended up just sticking to his normal content. I don't know how you can actually watch that video and come away with it being anything other than a succinct and candid explanation of his side of things and him taking accountability, stating how he aims to move forward and not let himself succumb to his failures.

@@EyesDontCry Oh don't get me wrong I'm glad he didn't cry and gaslighting his audience like most KZbin apologies, and he actually took some responsibility too and explained himself but at the same time it felt like a nothing burger....like he was circling around the issues and not really admitting them outright...I felt like it took him so long to get to the point but that was just my impression of that response It was a decent response and I think he didn't really think it through and just recorded his thoughts maybe that's why the video felt so disorganised for me

@@adelcipher5617 but again i have no idea where you are getting that impression, the animated video was not a big deal and the actual bad thing he did was spread hatred, something he spent the bulk of that video discussing because he was ashamed of it. Nothing dragged on, he explained everything quickly and didn't dance around anything, he owned up to it and that's that, the video is fairly short anyway again so i don't see how you got the impression he was dancing around something. This is just my intuition but it sounds like you simply weren't listening to what he had to say about the first situation and only cared about what he had to say about the animation because that's what everyone is talking about, so you treated anything else as a ramble. Maybe I'm wrong but I'm baffled as to how you came to your conclusions and can't think of any other logical explanation, it's simply confusing. This whole thing just seems so blown out of proportion by lies and false narratives spread about a stupid animation

@@EyesDontCry on second thought I think you're right, I am probably thinking a bit too much about it, guess having a normal apology video for once makes a person a bit paranoid.....honestly I did come into that video curious about his response to the animation (like most people) and I did hear a bit about the allegations too but never knew there was so much of it so I'm glad he took accountability.....I wish him all the best in the future but those allegations and animation will probably haunt him for the rest of his career Well....at least he provided "kinda free" advertising for Hazbin so it's not all bad
