Thank you for posting a concise and thorough video on changing those parts and even giving the torque information. It went pretty good today got it all done, new belt, tensioner and idler pully. I should be good for another 125000 miles. I think they were all original parts.

I went to an autoshop and got my front brake and rotors replaced with new brake fluid. I never had the serpentine belt changed since I had the vehicle, so I gave them a chance for them to swap it. I payed close to $650 for everything to be done. Now everything squeaks! Not sure if the rear brakes need to be changed too, but it sounds like the squeak is from the front brakes. The squeak from the serpentine is for the first few minutes the van is turned on and the sound goes away. At this point, since I gained some confidence in doing it myself, I am going to invest on more tools and fix their mess. Thanks again!

This is weird. I finally got around to replacing it myself and the squeaking sound is gone at the start up. Now when I press on the accelerator there's another annoying squeak. Oh man. I don't know if I did something wrong or it's something else.

Great video, but i wanted to mention that the Amazon link for the idler pulley leads to the wrong part(which i ordered 😕). The link leads to the pulley part of the tensioner(the black, ungrooved pulley that the belt rides on)...Not the grooved idler pulley itself

Just finished replacing the serpentine and tensioner on 2011 minivan but notice the belt moved one grove towards engine at the crank shaft pulley but when I realigned belt on the crankshaft the belt move away from the engine at the power steering pulley.

What is that tool you used in the tension?

It's just a socket adapter to change the 1/2" wrench to a 3/8" as that's the size hole in the tensioner. We could just have used a 3/8" wrench with no adpater needed, but you need a bit more torque really to make things easier, so a beefier and longer 1/2" wrench is better.
