YSL COLLEGE BAG SHOULDER TO CROSSBODY STRAP

There is nothing more annoying than getting the bag your eyes and soul have been lusting for and a few months into it discover one of the drawbacks you "forgot"to think about: the strap is too short for cross body wear. I solved it with a strap from LV and now I shift between both: for an evening dinner I'll take the chain strap and for a busy day or dance night out I'll grab the longer strap. Almost makes it feels as if it were two separate bags. Talk about savings :-)

This video speaks to my soul, haha. I've recently beun my luxury handbag collection and it's incredibly frustrating how little 'bigger' bags there are out there that can be worn crossbody. The crossbody ones are usually small sizes (which are too tiny for me personally), while the bigger ones that ARE perfect for me usually shoulder bags or totes... which I do not want. I love this YSL bag in this particular size, but the small strap frustrated me. Thanks for the tip!

There is a website called Mautto they sell custom straps. You can even get a chunky chain one to match the hardware of your bag, and you can chose the length and the clasp. And they are very budget friendly and great quality 😊 I love your bag girl!!!!!

Apparently saint laurent recently changed the strap length so now the bags come with a 110cm+ length strap, which means I have the opposite problem as this is too long for my 5"1 frame! I've been trying to find a locksmith to adjust but no luck as no one has the right tools. I might try calling YSL to see if they'll allow me to exchange for the previous version - you should do the same (but for the new version)!

I felt the same about the medium strap length, so i bought the large college instead as it sat at a nicer shoulder length. I was thinking the hrh chain strap would still give you that ysl look. Just subbed, look forward to more videos :)

I wonder if you google what the minimum is to bring into your country, you should be able to find it online? I think it'd match really well. My strap was 120 cm. As I mentioned in one of my videos, the older version had a shorter strap, if I'm not mistaken then it was about 105 cm... The best thing to do is try it out in a store, just to be sure ! I do think you can pull the longer one off as well though... hope it helps ! 😘

Thanks for watching ! I think the size really depends on the purpose of your bag. I was on the market for a small bag where I could fit my essentials, but bigger than a WOC for example, because I wanted space for sunglasses and other bits and bobs. If you want a bag that would fit a bottle of water and /or an iPad mini then you should definitely go for the larger size. I am thinking of getting the larger size in grey. Hope you'll make the best decision for you ! xoxo

+missmys I have never really noticed, so probably not... The leather piece that rests on the shoulder is relatively long.. And what I think helps a lot is the fact that the chain is extremely light-weight: it's not one of those heavy Chanel-like metal chains. It prevents of from catching hair with its weight. Etsy sells the replacement straps. Just search ysl replacement straps can't tell the difference and they are crossbody.
