Beautifully played, indeed, and at barely 18 years old. It is had to believe the maturity heard in the music. I heard he is playing this sonata, as well as Schubert’s D664, and Rachmaninov’s piano sonata #2 in his repertoire of 100 recitals worldwide. I will try to catch one of them!

Li Yun Di is Chopin reincarnated. My daughter played the Sonata no 2 at 11. Shewas gifted but didn't develop for the stage. A pity. She plays Beethoven Mozart, Bach equally great. Yundi :s lucky with great teacher, not a jealous professor and amazing state support

He hid in a room and locked himself in... but when they talked of this appointed as audience, I Yun Di caved in and played his best to an adoring audiemce! All the young ladies of China were 24:12 swooning after Yun Di. Was it true Yun Di lived a wicked and immoral life wiith prostitutes - after annoying the red shirt groupie lady traditional dancers and that they had 24:12 complained and reported about his immoral behaviour? But theu can't throw him in prison just for his emotional confusion and reaction - we can verify Yun Di must've live a highly sensitizer and stressful life, re么mve听起来lhisRecital I saw Li Yun Di Return Recital KZbin yesterday? Sorry for lost the paragraph - Yun Di lives a highly stressful life with very strict discipline -memorising long passages which he will play exquisitely and flawlessly the next day in front of a full house - perhaps like the violin string pulled a bit too tightly... something cracks and break down... momentarily ... Li Yun Di is an international treasure and the world is loves him. Let's see Yun Ti very soon. ❤️🌹🇨🇳🎹🎉

Fourth Mvt a bit dry, the other three are pretty good. But overall not up to the quality of his polonaise and concerto during the competition. I guess being too young is really an issue with this sonata.

bro I've listened to his performance of this nearly 20 times and I can't find anyone playing it as clearly as him and as passionately as him, keep in mind this was at a competition so there is a lot more stress than when ur in a studio recording a piece Yundi has undoubtedly the greatest op. 58 of anyone

His technique is the best, but his DG version of the fourth movement is better in musicality. During the competition, he played a bit too fast.

@@tcoe6118 you recommend these two recordings though they are both on either end of the interpretation Spectrum they are such vastly different performances, Pogorelich basically makes the piece a whole 10 minutes longer than some pianists do while Cho's is only slightly longer, 3 minutes. I don't understand how you hold both of these recordings with such high regard because they are so opposite.
