This is a special documentary made by fans. #YuzuruHanyu and #NathanChen - The best men figure skaters at the moment, are always challenging each others. Figure skating currently is so exciting to watch because of all the positive energy channeled out by these great skaters. They compete fiercely with each others on ice. Yet they respect each others so much off the ice. It's always a wonderful scene to see their interactions off the ice behind the competition. What a great #sportsmanship in display.

In fact Raf is very nice guy. He really loves figure skate and he is fan of many skaters. He is so supportive not only his students but even with his students’ rivals. I still remember he gave flower to Shoma to encourage him when he was disappointed in IDF 2019, that made me feel impressive his attitude behide his stone face

Yes! Nathan is so articulate with his choice of words and we were super impressed. One thing he shows really great respect for Yuzu. Another thing it shows how great Nathan is mentally. Humble and great attitude towards all. And they are the perfect leaders in the sport. We are sure all young skaters will look up to them and learn the same positive attitude from them. Will make more videos about Yuzu and Nathan. Remember to subscribe to our channel and stay tuned :)

They both are humble and grounded. I like seeing that. Just like when Yuzu was training with and competing with Javi, they had a real friendship and bond together on and off the ice. I see Yuzu doing the same thing with Nathan. That's what makes these 3 guys so likeable.

Exactly. The sport has changed so much! Yuzu and Nathan are the best embodiment of sportsmanship at the moment. And not only them, many many skaters in this sport at the current moment too. It's sad Hollywood and Netflix Figure Skating Show always choose to focus on the drama and not the real spirit of athletes portrayed by these great skaters. We just published a special video about the beautiful sportsmanship moments in figure skating here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hpmoq2mZiMxjjck and we will be premiering a documentary about the evolution of sportsmanship in figure skating | Worst and Best Moments in a few hours here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5jGmIiNfpubhqs --> Join us for the premiere if you can 😀💕

@Pingcha We totally agree with you. The trend was probably started from Yuzuru. In 2014 World Championship, he politely asked the audience to lower down the noise after his score came out so the next skater could concentrate. Then in 2015 GPF when Yuzu was waiting for his score, Javier congratulated him even knowing that he would lose to Yuzu. It's one of the best things we love about figure skating. Hope the trend continues..

@FigureSkatingFan
@FigureSkatingFan 3 жыл бұрын
@@purrformance Actually we started watching FS only around 2011, post Yagudin and Plushenko rivalry era in 1998-2002.. So we don't really know like the real feeling of watching their rivalry live. From our understanding based on documentary, it seems their rivalry was quite bad. Not so much of sportsmanship there. Like I saw some documentary where Yagudin gave a big "Yes" when his competitor fall on a jump, unlike Yuzu who would be feeling like "sorry.." even when his rival falls. But it could be the edit of the documentary so we aren't sure.. Are you familiar with Yagudin and Plushenko story?
@purrformance
@purrformance 3 жыл бұрын
@@FigureSkatingFan You're right about media attention, and edited documentaries. But you just have to watch ALL of the times they compete with each other. It was so obvious that they hated each other. In 1999-2000 Europeans, Yagudin walked out of the rink before his FS scores were finished being announced. He knew he would lose. They never look at each other for long. They don't touch each other. The sad truth is it's not all their fault. Mishin showed favoritism over Plushenko. The one thing I did enjoy about these 2 skaters rivalry, was that they were SO GOOD. In 2001, it was said that "when one skater wins a competition in which the other was not competing at, it didn't feel like a win. It didn't feel whole or complete without the other skater competing. Isn't that crazy!! It's like Yuzuru winning Skate Canada and being upset that Nathan wasn't there to lose to him!! What!! They only focused on each other, it was so tight. When Plushenko finished his FS, Tarasova held up 2 fingers to Yagudin, indicating that Plushenko did 2 quads and he needed to match him. Plushenko always had this mocked little grin on his face that I loved. Sorry about all the writing, I'm a fan of these Russian skaters. :)❤❤❤❤❣❤❣❤❣❤🧡💛💚💙💜💗🍁⚘🌷🌟⚡⚡♦️♥️♦️♥️🎀💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖😊😊😊

Whether Yuzu wins his 3rd Olympic gold or not is not really a big deal. He has proven himself a long time ago and I think that is remarkable already. All he wanted now is to land 4A. I still feel a barrier between him and Nathan and I believe it is due to the great respect Nathan feels towards a very nice senior like Yuzu. Nathan for me still looks up to Yuzu in spite of all his recent achievements. It has always been Yuzu who approaches him when there is an opportunity instead of Nathan taking the initiative. Maybe because he grew up admiring Yuzu and he is not sure of himself on how to deal with such momentous situations (I would freeze. Most of us would feel the same in front of such greatness I guess). All he can do now is to learn from him and be the best that he can be. I hope he continues the legacy of sportsmanship among the junior skaters once Yuzu retires (oh, my heart is breaking when I think about this).

I totally agree with you. For me personally, everytime after watching Nathan performs I was like "Wow! He's so cool!" And indeed he is a cool kid, smart kid, super talented and his performance is full of swagger. But for Yuzu, his performance always touch a soft spot in my heart and you just couldn't help but watch it again and again. I don't know how many times I had repeated his Seimei and "Hope and Legacy". And I'm so in love with his performance in the training (Not the official performance), like this one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYvYe41jrduYabM. It's like he is skating in his own world and there were so many other skaters skating beside, but you just couldn't take your eyes off him..

@senemgencer71
@senemgencer71 3 жыл бұрын
@@Vladi0310 He had an asthma attack before his FP performance at Worlds. It was also other things that added up (the earthquake which damaged his house badly in February, the earthquake that happened on the day he left for Stockholm, training completely on his own for almost a year) and he gave probably one of his worst performances in the past 3 years. Nathan had the chance to train with his coach the whole time, non stop, so he made a very big improvement in his artistry as well. But at the end of the day, it is a competition. You go there, you perform and you are judged accordingly,,not based on your story. Remember Nathan's SP at 2018 Olympics? He was awful. God knows what happened to him just before he stepped on ice, but he was worse than Yuzuru's worst in the past 10 years. And 2 days later, he was wonderful and scored better than anyone. So no matter how professional these guys are, things happen to them. Because they are human.

Nathan and Yuzuru have different skating styles. Both are gentlemen and respect each other; have mutual admiration for each other's strengths. Variety makes the sport better. There is only one Yuzuru and there is only one Nathan, etc. Liking Yuzuru does not mean hating Nathan, and vice versa. Let us learn from these two young honorable men.

It's so wild to me that despite how respectful this rivalry is and how it's so clear that they both admire one another's skating, fans on the internet just gotta fight and hate and I honestly don't really get it? Like maybe it's because I'm a fan of both but I think having two very strong skaters and competitors who are also quite different is interesting to watch and good for the sport imo. Yuzuru's, "He's so damn cool!" and Nathan's "I mean Yuzu's like, the GOAT" just about sums it up for me lol I love it. Also sidenote I'm truly blessed that this isn't anything like the obnoxious Yagudin/Plushenko rivalry can you imagine lmao

It's inspiring to see both appreciating each other's work. They both want to win, but it doesn't need to be turned into personal rivalry. It pisses Fanyu off when other people disrespect Yuzuru or try to put his achievements down. Understandably so. On the other side, I see some Fanyus undermining Nathan, which is also problematic. You choose to support whichever athlete you want. Honestly, it's sad to see people implying one is not good enough because someone else's achievement list is longer. I read a comment that said Nathan' achievement is already behind Yuzuru because Nathan doesn't have the junior championship titles. There are lot of people who catch up with life later than some. Not everyone will start on their journey at the same age. From personal experience, the sooner you start the better (procrastination could lead to unnecessary consequences), but expecting everyone to operate at same level isn't even possible. People should not UNDERMINE someone by comparing them to other people. Everyone bring something to the table. To the people who think Nathan isn't good "enough", every year a group of skaters who worked hard for years participate and only a few gets some level of recognition. Such is life. Sometimes it can't be helped, but we don't need things worse by putting someone's work down. That type of social space and environment is bound to fail

..."even those who take first places in the championships are far from Yuzuru's level"? Delusional Fanyus. Always in denial. The champion is the champion. It means the winner performed above his competitors. If someone only wins one, you might be able to use the excuse that it was luck or something. When someone has won it 3 years in a row and by large margins, you should be more respectful. Why even bother with competitions if winning a championship means nothing? Should all those medals Yuzuru won in the past mean nothing?
