The UK government has unveiled a new plan to curb immigration in the UK.
The changes included hiking the minimum salary needed for skilled overseas workers from £26,200 to £38,700.
Home Secretary James Cleverly said the new measures would mean 300,000 people who immigrated to the UK last year would not be eligible for a visa in future.

@@poshgentleman559 The average person wants a working economy, a functioning NHS and safer streets. If successive governments hadn't stripped councils, the NHS and police force of as much funding as they possibly could then maybe we would have these things. If we want the NHS to function we have to realise that we don't have the people we need in this country lining up to become doctors nurses and social/care workers and that in order for these hospitals to continue what little work they are able to do under such poor conditions we need to get properly qualified people or people who want to become qualified from other countries. It is not the migrants fault that governments didnt build homes, it is not the migrants fault that successive governments have lowered living standards across the country, and it is not the migrants fault that there aren't enough english Scottish Welsh or northern irish people with the drive to spend all that time and money just to work in these incredibly stressful conditions.

@@ninjalife123 I agree with what you say, but for far too long migrants have been used to keep wages low. I'm absolutely not anti immigration, but we cannot allow the continued exploitation of both migrant and domestic workers. Carers being paid near minimum wage. Doctors on £14 an hour is a disgrace. We are not going to attract people into these professions unless they are well paid and well treated. It's essential we address this. Even if these new controls were successful and brought down immigration by 300,000 (Tory immigration policy has failed for 13 years), immigration would STILL be higher than when Teresa May was Home Secretary and Cameron was talking about an upper limit of tens of thousands of people coming into the country. This policy will damage the economy and fails to meet Tory immigration objectives from 13 years ago! This government is careering from one disaster to another. How long can the country take this level of incompetence?

The thing that bugs me the most, about these over privileged tory RP’s, is that they are always going on about how their opposition doesn’t vote for the tory’s proposals, which is exactly what the opposition should do, because if they don’t vote against them, then they’re voting for them, and that’d mean they’re not the opposition any more…… But not only that, the tory’s are supposed to have a massive majority, which means, that, they shouldn’t need, the opposition to vote their way……..

Got to love the way that they won’t/cant chuck out the illegals because of “human rights”, yet apparently we have no human rights to be protected from unchecked illegals from who knows where bringing who knows what with them. A sad demise from the strong country we always used to be.

Cleverly appears to be unaware that the Tories have been in power for 13 years. No point in blaming the Labour Party for the state of the UK.

Yvette Cooper should be the leader of the Labour Party, although every female Prime Minister so far has been horrendous, Cooper would destroy the Tory party at the despatch box

Man... LOL. You know that the opposition's job is not to develop the government policies. He also nicked policies from Labour. Cleverly is so useless. He said totally...nothing. Except to blame policies from Blair. But hey, no mention of the the member from Islington North.

The public are crying out for a much better UK in 13 years time. Nobody gives a toss about 13 years ago. The UK needs a leader that says, here's how we dig out of the shit. Not here's a thousand potential reasons why we're in the shit in the first place.

Seriously, if there is total failure why have these people, that have failed at their jobs still got their jobs. If you're not good at your job you are let go but if your and MP it's OK to sponge of the people. you all have failed the people and have all failed to do your jobs. So do the right thing and quit your jobs and stop that the people money. All MP Say they care, but the only thing they care about is taken the people money home. People in the real world get paid for the jobs they can do, what has any MP done to deserve the wages they get expecially if all they talk about is how the country is messed up.

The Tories have made it easy for Labour.Their policies have failed and how much more taxpayers money is being wasted by these shysters? Cleverly has just gone off on a jolly to Rwanda(at taxpayers expense),trying to resurrect that ‘FAILED’ policy and making promises that migrants will soon be flown over to that MAGIC KINGDOM where if migrants don’t enjoy themselves, they’ll make the trek back up Northern Africa to the Mediterranean and cross to Southern France and head to Calais, so they can make that SAME JOURNEY across the Channel all over again. Those migrants aren’t FORCED to stay in Rwanda, they’re not prisoners. The only people who are profiting from this are the Rwandan government!😾
