Just pick up a 2005 YZ 125 today. She's seen better days for sure. I plan on cleaning it as well as I can without pulling it apart

Nice build bro, im doing my 95' yz125 as we speak. I usually put the back wheel on. Seems to balance it nicely. Back wheel rests on the floor, and bottom of frame on the stand. Works out for me.

You could place a long piece of hear shrink tubing on throttle spring. That help with rubbing on the frame. Or use Some Honda EPT sealer its just think 3mm sponge tape. I have parts if you want.

Be careful gripping the torque wrench in any position other than the end of the handle. The torque measurement is sensitive to where the rotational leverage is applied and if your off-hand is on the head. You'd be surprised how much that can affect the measurement! Commenting because of your left hand while torquing down the footpeg brackets; just something to keep an eye out for.

Just a generic 3/8 torque wrench. The one I used in the video is from Harbor Freight but I am looking to get a nicer one soon!

How do you know how to do this stuff like I wanna learn how to take a bike apart and put it back together but I’m scared I’ll mess something up lol
@akmoto_4 жыл бұрын
Honestly a lot of it comes with time. The more you work on your bike the more comfortable you get. I believe the key is organization. The more organized you keep things the easier and quicker assembly will go.

@akmoto_4 жыл бұрын
Not going to be for road use. Also the frame has a VIN that once “read”, shows the bike as a whole is made by Yamaha in Japan.

probably a dumb question but how do u measure how much torque ur using
@VlogEpicness4 жыл бұрын
bruh where you set the torque wrench.
@akmoto_4 жыл бұрын
I use a torque wrench in bolts that need to be torqued. Basically a torque wrench allows you to set a specific torque to apply to a fastener and when the desired torque is reached, it clicks. I get my torque specs from my OEM service manual.
